This book is one of my favorites - I'm currently re-reading it because the movie is out this weekend. Provides a moving glimpse into one boy's struggle to reconcile the Bengali culture of his immigrant parents with his American upbringing. Beautiful, simple language.
I really enjoyed reading this book...I really could't put it down. I recommend it!

What a great mix of ingredients...a library, a peace corp type quest in a foreign land, and interpersonal relationships! I love this author...loved her book Staircase of a Thousand Steps.

** spoiler alert ** I want to start by saying that I love Cassie Clare's writing. With that being said, when I finished the story, I think that I actually liked the male characters (Will, Jem, Magnus, Gideon) more than Tessa. I was upset by her fickleness. I don't think that she should end up with of the boys. I hope I like her more in the next book...right now...eh.

I like this simple and straight-forward book addressing emotions and how to effectively deal with them so that they are not a disruption to your life. Joyce Meyer consistent provides logical conclusions and sound advice for controlling yourself instead of being controlled by yourself. In this particular outing she focuses on how address and move beyond limiting emotions, without denying or ignoring them in your life. Joyce Meyer illustrates her points with real-life stories from her life and others, in ways that very relatable and encouraging to read and follow. The covers swveral different topics related to emotions, including fear, loss, and medical consitions. I like that this book, along with her other dealing with thoughts and other aspects of the mind, doesn't pretend that emotions don't really exist or that they are all bad, but rather addresses the thing that can most effectively conquer or build-up emotions: words. This is another one of her helpful and encouraging books. . I received this review book for free from the publisher, FaithWords. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own.

"Everything that held me together was on the floor in front of me, shattered into the tiniest pieces. I could never pick it up and glue it back together, not if I had all the time in the world." (p224) This was a dark and quick read that I finished in one sitting; I enjoyed the escape. I also liked the way that it ended without providing any answers.
