A surprisingly fine read! Gary Lamb conveys such a warm sense of caring, humor, fun, and commitment to his spiritual life that even the most critical of readers will not be able to resist his charm. In LEGS OF LAMB: The story of one man's prayer walk around the coast of Britain Gary Lamb manages to bring us to the moment of deciding to make some changes in his life, relating his childhood disdain for forced church attendance with his mum, finding his relationship to God and the accompanying 'message' to perform a prayer walk, the rigors of preparing for the long excursion around the periphery of Britain. And that is where the book gains the most interest for the reader. How this lad could trek the thousands of miles through the most challenging terrain and lack of creature comforts and instead of simply relating the humor and the obstacles in his path, to focus on the reception of the folk with whom he stayed and prayed is nothing short of a spiritual experience for the reader. Doubtless, meeting Gary Lamb in person would impress the most astringent of minds, but the fact that he is able to retain the joys of his spiritual high and allow the reader to absorb his ceaseless good nature and belief system is just short of miraculous. This little book will be a welcome addition to the libraries of those whose spiritual lives are rich, but it is also a book full of love and pleasure of the journey of a man who encourages us all to connect. Reading LEGS OF LAMB is a pleasure on many levels. Grady Harp
