Very interesting book. I didn't know anything about mormonism before hand. Of course I'm sure anyone who is mormon will view this book as unfair, but I really have some questions about the mormon faith having read this. And I guess to a certain extent, all religions. Also polygamy, especially where it involves young girls, is evil! I don't care what anyone says!!!

Reads like the movies. Story takes in between where the Adventures of Young Indiana Jones ends and Temple of Doom starts.

This has been one of my favourite books for years (as the state of the cover/binding testifies!). The story is beautifully written and tells the story of a young woman who gets caught up in mysterious circumstances while on holiday in Crete - I can just imagine swimming in the crystal waters and hiking the White Mountains. The characters jump off the page and I get swept up in the story every time (can't go into too much detail without spoiling the story) - what more could you want from an easy read?

I first read this book many years ago in junior high. I selected it because of the media hype surrounding the "dirty book" written by a priest. I was mildly disappointed about the lack of actualy dirty stuff but thoroughly enjoyed the story. I didn't know it then but the seeds that would lead me into the Catholic faith many many years later had been planted by Fr. Greeley. It is one of his very first books and isn't as smooth as his later stuff. The climax with the spy shenanigans by Fr. Kevin is actually a little silly, but the relationships is what drives the narrative. Good stuff.

TO be honest not the strongest of the Temperance series. Again, LOVE Bones but I think that writing the TV show has taken away the magic of this character for me. Bones is SO much MORE on TV then here. I like her in the books better, as a person, but it went from dated (her early novels) to a rushed presentation. She talks about having three elements in her comments in the back but the love aspect was wishy washy at best. I kept thinking, what are you doing? Petting the cat again huh? It was another book, nothing to scream about or give a 5 star review. Glad she has her other project with the YA books because Temperance has gotten boring! Still a fun read but just eh...

Very fun - I liked that it didn't go the places I anticipated.
I thought this was a really interesting book, especially if you are familiar with Van Gogh and his work. I see that some reviewers found the book sad or depressing, but I didn't think so. The artist did suffer from mental problems, so obviously that's a big part of the story. I thought that the author provided realistic insight into Van Gogh's mind and his art. I also liked that the author tells at the end how she did her research and how much of the story was factual, because I always wonder about that when I read historical fiction. It would have been neat to have some prints included in the book so you could see the paintings to which the book refers, but I guess the reader could do some research of their own!
My fav author, one of my fav reads. Annie is the truest and the best!
I was unable to finish this book... in fact, wasn't even able to make it through the Cat chaper (which I think was chapter 3) I didn't see the connection between the text and the title, nor did I agree with anything that was written. She touched on evolution of domestication which I found interesting, but I feel too much emphasis was put on it for an explaination to animal behavior, and I am a huge fan of evolution. It was disappointing, since I was looking forward to reading this book.
A very interesting approach to story telling through a transplant journey. Most stories about transplant are written after the fact, but this book contains daily journals from before, during, and after transplant/hospitalization. You can see the author change perspectives from beginning to end. I am waiting for a lung transplant, so I could definitely relate to many of the emotions the author has expressed. It opened my eyes a little more to what I might expect and how I should remember to treat loved ones, even in my darkest hour. The book would also be a good read for anyone who is a caretaker or friend of someone waiting for transplant, in order to understand some of the uncontrollable emotions a patient may go through. The book is raw and detailed - the ending is hopeful and truthful.
