the 120 days in sodom starts off with a defined narrative, its a real story. then by the end its just a list of messed up stuff that went on. i dont know who the author was pandering to, put by the waning parts its obvious hes just making lists of the most base, cruel and degrading acts he can think if. Like a tacobell menu he revers to combinations of the same scant obscenity in different values trying to create "NEW" and "EXITING" for the readers now jaded sensibility. I recommend the audiobook for this title. Large volume makes reading one handed difficult.

I don't regret sticking it out to finish the trilogy, let's put it that way. I'd recommend the trilogy only to people who don't mind a an overuse of dramatics within the story (ie, many, many sentences/fragments like: "She had one chance to save her husband. One chance. One and only one chance."). The story of "Inkdeath" overshadowed the annoying writing and had enough twists away from convention to keep me interested, even after I'd put it down for more than a month. The ending felt a bit abrupt, however, but not altogether unsatisfying.
