I read a comic book/manga*! And more to the point, enjoyed it! I'm fairly sure I picked up this book thinking it was just a regular Western. It's not. The world Kibuishi has created is basically a cross between Firefly and Star Wars. And honestly, there's no bad there :-) Daisy is a fabulous heroine. If there are more Daisy Kutter comics, I might actually have to chase them up. (None show up on GoodReads, though). Tom is adorable, and since Kibuishi is doing the whole "girl hides her emotions, keeps boy at arms length" thing, there is one sequence that I really do love. I enjoyed reading the pictures more than I thought I would. I've read books by Raymond Briggs, of course, and I suppose they're in comic book format, but mostly, one still reads the words rather than the pictures. There are a lot of ways in which this is a disorienting medium for me (eg, I still haven't read the Firefly comics that I was given a number of years ago, because I couldn't get into them) and so I was really glad to be hooked by this and enjoy it. As a result, I think I may now be ready to attack The Dreaming or American-Born Chinese now. ------ *What's the actual definition of 'manga'? How is it distinguished from a 'comic book'?

very lame story.there is no real climax. whenever something happens the reader is not really taken. Little indications what might have happend with someone are not played well and it is pretty soon clear that the mentioned indication doesnt have anything to do with the missing/dead person... I do not recommend. Maybe the translation into German was also bad...

I absolutely loved this book. Stephanie Meyer truly has a gift in story telling and a fresh and unique aspect in her writing. I loved reading from the viewpoint of the alien. It added a different twist that kept me reading into the wee hours.

Okay. I know several reviews are raving about it, but Seven Realm novel #3 felt more like filler than it did a solid novel. And I feel like the story is becoming less good with each installment, and also that Ms. Chima is writing her characters less well with each installment too. Han...of course is still Han: the underdog, cool, dashing, rather unassuming. I love Han, and he seems to be the only character whose integrity (I mean in the sense of the character, not honesty, although Han is honest to a fault) Ms. Chima has preserved. Han, and Dancer. Everyone else seems to be a caricature of their former self. Raisa I just want to smack. Every few seconds she's in love/in lust with someone different, wishing they could be hers - smh. It was an okay novel, and the intrigue picked up quite a bit in this installment, but like I wrote before, a lot of this felt like filler. I will be glad to be done with this series when the next book comes out. It's okay, but it is not up to the quality with which Ms. Chima started this series. I hope book 4 will be better.
I love this book so much!
