Worst book I ever read... I wish there were a zero star option. What a clown
Same Difference is a fiction about a 16 years old girl named Emily. She has a best friend named Meg, and they have been friends since they were babies and live right next to each other. However, Emily feels that is is time for a change. Also she feels that summmer in her hometown will not be fun anymore, especially since Meg got a boyfriend. So she decides to go to a art program in Philadelphia. Through this art program, she could learn who she really is and also learn that she is a great artistic. Another important thing that Emily realized is that Meg is always there for her. I felt that I can relate to this book. Most people do not know who they really are, especially teenagers. If someone asks me who I am, I think I cannot answer that question. It is hard to find it. Perhaps the answer for this question will come up as people struggle like Emily. Further, friendship is also big problem for teenagers. In this book, it was described crearly and I could understand how Emily feels. Overall, I could sympathize with Emily and this book and I liked it.

Loved it!!! I can't wait to start the next one! I don't really think Elena is a believable character, but I am loving the story. This book was both 1 and 2 of the series.

I still refer to the Myth of Sisyphus in conversation to this very day at an appropriate moment. The lessons bestowed upon us in this ephemeral form that we inhabit on the Mother Earth.
Hayden already described this but it is worth a read especially for WALLY. C'mon what would you say in Haiku if you were a zombie? I give it 5 starts becasue it does what it sets out to do perfectly. It is in the top of it's genre.

Graves just made crap up, but he made up for his inaccuracy with extreme dullness.

Not the most in depth, but maybe the best short introduction to Lacan you can get. If nothing else it is good preparation for digging into his texts, rather than reading the numerous commentaries (which can be as confusing as the man himself).

Horrifyingly bad - DO NOT BOTHER !!!!!
I would definitely recommend this as an alternative to Wheelan's Naked Economics. McMillan's main point is that markets are tools; and like all tools, they can have better and poorer designs, and can be used well or less well to achieve their end. They are socially constructed. He critiques both Ayn Rand-style conservatives and libertarians whose faith in markets endows them with some moral purposes and those on the left with similarly religious tenets that markets are evil. I think there are still plenty of assumptions that McMillan makes with which I disagree. Like too many economists, he sees growth as an imperative, and no thoughts about ecology or sustainable natural resource use interrupt this. And I strongly disliked his tendency to regard people as consumers first and citizens second. Still, he seems to have considered a wide range of viewpoints, and comes to some interesting conclusions about when strong property rights are effective and when they are not. (He argues that they intellectual property rights in the U.S. have become counterproductive; and that for some goods, like AIDS drugs, new legal mechanisms need to be adopted to ensure their necessary distribution.)
