I was a little disappointed by the way the book ended. While I don’t necessary need flowers and music, I would like some kind of dialog to let me know feelings have been expressed and returned. I’m not complaining – overall I liked the book. But after enduring countless discussions regarding unions and strikes and work environments, the least I could get in return was one small paragraph of sentiments. Some’in for all my hard work of reading :-) . . . Overall: I liked Margaret. She is a character who went through a lot and dealt with her situation as best as she could. So much death!!! Life in a trade town - how depressing! And was that a little back story of Mutiny on the Bounty!!??

This book led to several explanations I wasn't really in the mood for (hunters, guns). Henry has a combination of fascination/fear of big-horned animals, so he was both enthralled and horrified by seeing the animals living in the horns, the horns being shed, etc. All in all, this one exhausts both of us. But it's Seuss, and I love the message about kicking to the curb those who only take and don't give. Sassy!

I thought this book was ok as well. Cute high school romance vampire thing going on. Kept me intrigued, not as much action or drama as other vampire books out there but I liked that it didn't get as violent or sexual.

Fool Moon was an interesting read. Not quite as focused as Storm Front, but it played with the characters Butcher had established and really drew them out. The plotting was a little weak, but it was still an entertaining read, and Butcher definitely made his world (and his characters) biggest and better-developed through the course of it. More importantly, in the epilogue, he finally hinted at the larger story question that is probably going to drive the series (or at least kick it off). I'm glad to be done with this book, but also really excited to get into the next one.

I liked this book a lot up until just about the last page. Boo. I liked the whole Great Gatsby involvement and the mystery. And then he ruined it. I read the last page and threw the book away from my body. I thought about it and was like WTF?! Was this real? So angry. Perfectly good book down the tubes.

For a novel that is based on a fictional account, this was a good read. Not detailed in anyway, but it keeps you guessing as to what will happen to the husband and two wives... Henry loves his wife Margaret and their children, but after their disappearance in New Zealand he finally starts life over, 5 years later, in California. There he meets Nancy (newly widowed with an infant) and their life together begins. Things change when Margaret and the children suddenly appear at Henry & Nancy's doorstep beginning a chain of legal battles and how public perception can decide if someone is good or bad. Interesting topic, and since it is fiction, it really left me wondering what would happen in life and could these people really all get along so well? Well written and told mainly from the perspective of the two wives - but again, not detailed, especially when you wonder about the treatment of the first wife by her captors. Interesting concept for a book though.
