Simply incredible. All the pieces fall together in the end, like a beautifully crafted mosaic. Wonderful ending to a wonderful series.

This book is perfect, the story line is emotional and sweet without being sappy. The book made me teary-eyed at times. Its story is very unique and the fact it takes place in Chicago just makes me love it all the more.

I wrote something just after finishing this book, but it seems to have disappeared into cyberspace. This is a detective story from the 20s set in Hollywood. It is a fun, easy read, but doesn't leave much of a lasting impression. Can't say I learned much from it, but I did enjoy it.

Grant's own stories of his adventures in Desolation sound are interesting and often amusing. His digressions about the history and other colourful characters of the region are strangely less compelling. So overall an entertaining enough read, but not one that gives you a feeling of time well spent.

What attracted me first to this book is the fact that it was written by Mia Thermopolis, Princess of Genovia, with help from Meg Cabot, author of the Princess Diaries! It is a delightful romp from start to finish and very, very funny. Definitely a keeper on any bookshelf. There are a few historical inaccuracies - for example, women didn't wear white on their wedding days until Queen Victoria married Prince Albert and set the trend. White is a difficult colour to keep clean and only very wealthy people would have worn it. It was only in the nineteenth century that it came to symbolise purity - but it's such a smile-inducing read that I'd happily overlook them.

Chilling, yet she makes you understand why each character acts as they do. JCO builds the tension in each story until you are driven to finish it. Disturbing in the intriguing, murder mystery, or really good ghost story way.

The first bit of this book seemed like I was reading his 'Children of the Promise' book again. It has some fun, exciting moments with the boy behind enemy lines in France. I didn't much care for the story line that it kept going back to with the family back home. Like the author needed to add something more to help make the book bigger. I would have rather had more story about the work they were doing in France before D Day.
