Die for Me is a unique and exquisite story of a human girl who fell in love with a not-so-human boy in the beautiful city of Paris. With a strong lovely heroine and a delicious, breathtakingly handsome hero, fans of paranormal romance will be left longing for the next book. Just as Kate is ready to start her life again after the devastating death of their parents, she met the mysterious and handsome boy Vincent, a revenant who's life is committed to saving humans from dying. Both of them needs salvation and the love that seems to be their only hope is something they can't risk. Kate is a strong heroine, she's not annoying and she's very real. You can easily relate to her and to her sister Georgia. You'll love Vincent, Kate's beloved. He's another hot guy you'll fall in love with! Mysterious and broken, a bit of a bad boy and oh so romantic! I think one reason why I enjoyed this book so much is because of the fabulous set of characters! They all have an amazing personality that make them so likable. I was also impressed by how the author created a new variety of zombies--charming and devastatingly beautiful beings that you would eagerly want to devour! Reading this book is like breathing a bit of fresh air... new and unique. It is well blended with paranormal romance in a realistic setting that make the story believable. It is rich and very well written. You wouldn't want to put this book down once you started it. Die for Me is an engaging story with remarkably strong characters, beautiful setting, and a rich wonderful romance. I totally loved this book and I recommend it to those who love paranormal romance with a unique and exciting twist.

I was told I had to read this book. "It's amazing, you'll love it!" they said.... All I can say is, eh. The author has a message about life and he is prepared to bludgeon you to death with it.
I debated my rating of this book - two or three stars - for quite a while. While there wasn't anything in particular that I disliked about this book, there wasn't anything in particular that I liked either. It leaves me lukewarm. Another reviewer described the writing as utilitarian, and I have to agree. The words served the purpose of telling a story, but they elicited nothing. I never became invested in the plot or the characters. I'm led to believe Butcher's style grows/matures as the series goes on. Now I'm debating whether I should give book two a shot. Hmmmmm.

The first time I read this book about 4-5 years ago it took me months to decided if I liked it or not. I loved the movie version of "The Wizard of Oz" so it was hard to accept Maguire's version of Oz. When "Son of a Witch" came out I decided I needed a refresher so I got "Wicked" on Audio CD and listened to it. I've decided that I really do like this book. I am still very curious about the musical - I can't picture how it's done. The wicked witch, Elphaba, is a very odd character but I couldn't help but admire her. She is strong, opinionated, and goes her own way. The second reading made me see her as a fantasy version of a Berkeley-esque hippy -- vegetarian, activist - Animal and political, and free-thinker. Verdict -- like but not love.

EVERYBODY NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK. It was amazing, I did not put it down until it was over. Something about it just pulled me in and captivated me.
It was good but could have been better. Liked the middle and ending better than beginning. She seemed to skip pieces and wholes in her writing. The the love story was sweet and pure. Loved that!... So parts I liked and parts I felt could have been much stronger.
Spectacular character-driven fantasy trilogy.

Full of sweetness and sting, this story can make you ache over the way life unfolds, not straight but full of zigzags and corners into which sorrow and grace creep. One of its anecdotes rang especially true to me, one about painting the house and what it means to love one's sister, or anyone. I loved this book.

Didn't love parts of this book, but overall liked the book. Did anyone see the movie? Can't decide if it's worth seeing.
