The book veered from various points of view of major players during the first World War. Particularly interesting for me were the story lines involving Baron Von Richtofen (the Red Baron), who I knew very little about, and the story of General John Pershing ( a Missouri boy).

I read this book last year. I was interested especially because Kev actually bought it and wanted to read it. When he was selling one summer, he talked to a convert of the church that said this was the book that made him want to know more about the gospel. It's an outter life experience. I found it very interesting and incredible of the love of our Savior and the great Plan of Happiness. It made me really think of what this life will be like after we pass. I'm grateful for the knowledge I have and the testimony I have of eternal families.

i used to give this book as a gift a lot because i thought it was very profound. i remember loving the dad & son road trip part and having a changing relationship to the quasi-religious epiphany at the end. this site makes me want to re-read everything.

I thought his blend of psychology and philosophy was interesting, and the writing was simple and engaging, but I don't have time right now to focus on the book. Will get back to it someday.

Layton Green’s The Summoner combines intrigue, heart-stopping thrills, mystery, and a clash of cultures that will leave the reader breathless and craving more Dominic Gray. When a United States diplomat vanishes, Dominic Gray joins the case along with Nya Mashumaba and Professor Viktor Radek. They soon realize this isn’t a normal kidnapping. Dangerous and very deadly powers are at play that test their faith and beliefs in more ways than one. They must discover how to stop an ancient African religious cult or face fates worse than death. Green’s research capabilities are phenomenal without distracting the reader from the story. I felt like I was in Harare and went every step along the twists and turns to discover who was N’anga. The characters are believable. As someone who briefly studied anthropology and ancient religions, I loved the attention to details. Reading The Summoner will summon you into craving more Dominic Grey novels. I anxiously await the next one!
One of my favorites of the series! It made for great reading during 3 am feedings the last week.
I brought this book on vacation with me last month and finished it in two days. It's a quick book to read and fun to hear all the NYC restaurants/clubs mentioned throughout the book. It's the perfect book to pick up when you are looking for something light to read.

Can someone please tell me how I'm going to occupy my time when there's no more of these books?

Interesting... It's not what I expected but it definitely made me think, because for one brief moment in time, he got to experience happiness. And that is better than anything else.
I really liked his other book, The Beach, but this one was pretty lame.
