The second book didn't disapoint! Great pace to the story, liking Mac more as she evolves and I appreciate how only a bit about Jericho Barrons is revealed each time. Beginning to speculate on what he is, but can't be sure. I am completely hooked!

Thank you, Linda, for giving me this book. The idea that reading the adventures of a woman traveling on her own for a year made you think of me makes me happy. I wanted to like this book. I really did. I wish I hadn't felt so irritated by Gilbert's depression-leads-to-self-awareness travelogue. I admit it's possible that jealousy is at the root of my frustration with her travels being funded by an advance on the book she promised to write at the end of the year. I wish someone would give me an advance so that I could substitute pasta for anti-depressants in Italy, or live on an ashram in India, or hang out for four months in Bali. It's too bad that the inevitability of a book coming out of her experiences makes it harder for me to see those experiences as entirely sincere. But, she did make me laugh a couple times. And I was happy that she seemed happy in the end. And I think everyone who wants to should live in Italy long enough to learn some Italian and eat as much as they please, just for the sake of eating. And it takes a lot of bravery to travel, and maybe more to write about it as honestly as she does.
(Mystery) Scary idea that computer server operators can use their knowledge to indulge in murder and mayhem.

Life Changing. 6 Stars.

I liked the book, but did not really enjoy translating it from Spanish to English, senior Cruz.
this is a really interesting read. It is a historical fiction (heavy on the fiction) about how the famous painting Monna Lisa came to be painted. Even though the story is an act of imagination, you will never be able to look at the painting without thinking of these characters.

This reads about how you would expect it to--like a person who usually writes thrillers wrote a historical epic. The story is good and keeps you reading to find out what happens next. But the writing itself is clunky and ham-handed. I did enjoy the story, and I liked the character of Aliena quite a lot. But I don't feel compelled to pick up any more of Ken Follett's historical fiction.
One of those books which shows me something new each time I reread it.
