First, I have to say, I just LOVE anything that has to do with the Duggar Family. This book was no exception. I couldn't the book down, and had it read before the day was out. If more families were like The Duggars, this would be a better world in which to live. They walk the walk, totally. The family, which now has 19 children, lives debt free, in rural Arkansas. They home school, and have a very fundamental Christian faith. They do not impose any of their beliefs on others. The girls choose to wear skirts, and the boys wear long pants. They have no TV. They have helped another large family in Tennessee, to add a huge addition on their home. They believe in helping others with community service. I loved reading about how they live every day, and their schedule for keeping the family in order. I hope that their TV series, keeps getting renewed on TLC, because they are so interesting.

Interesting mystery, set on a fictional pueblo. The protagonist is a female Bureau of Land Management agent, whose companion is a wolf. It took me a long time to finish (kept getting distracted - not the book's fault), but I enjoyed the story, and I'm looking forward to reading the next installment.

Loved this book! I love the relationship between Will and Marcus... and it helps to keep picturing Hugh Grant in your mind as you're reading this book :).

Huh. I wanted to love this, but I didn't. I liked it a lot though. The good - great characters. I look forward to spending more time with pyschic Evie, secret-keeping giant Jericho, healer Memphis and his brother Isaiah, chorus girl Theta (who apparently watched the first season of Heroes when she received her power) and her pal Henry, Sam the thief and hoodlum - plus, the periphery characters like Blind Bill (Silar from Heroes anyone?), Sister Walker, and Evie's friend (frenemy-to-be?) Mabel. Also good - the setting. The Roaring 20s setting is great, and the slang Bray uses rings true. Also, also good - the creepy Naughty John mystery. Chills. And now for the not-so-great - dragging, dragging, dragging. Since this is part of a series, A LOT of the story is spent setting up for the second book, and I do mean A LOT. Things happen in this one purely to set-up for the next book and have no bearing on this first story at all. This made the first half of the book really, really slow for me, and it irritated me at the end that many plot points have no resolution at all. Plus, in case you didn't notice it in my previous paragraphs, the plot seemed very much like Heroes: The Prohibition Years. I know everyone didn't watch Heroes like I did, but here we have another group of people with supernatural powers waiting for the BIG STORM which they don't know much about, but they know it will be BAD. Plus, there is even an early generation of folks watching out for the supernatural current Scooby gang. It's all a little too familiar. Let's hope Bray doesn't suffer from the second season curse that Heroes did. I will be reading the next one, but I have my reservations . . .

It took me a while to get into the rhythym of the narrator as "death" but gradually grew on me. The perspective of typical Germans forced to comply with Nazi Germany standards is unique. I don't usually cry when reading but this one got to me. Highly recommend but be patient and don't give up after a few pages, which I almost did.

now here's a christian book from way back when that i actually remember. a must read for gems like, "being humble means you have nothing to lose, and nothing to prove" and "snap your wrist downward when your toss is at its highest point."

Magic Burns is full of magic, friends, love and mystery. It's action packed-between the good and the bad guys.

Another good book by Jennifer Echols. It was funny and nice and i liked it a lot. Hayden and Nick are so cute and after 4 years they finally made it. I liked the challenge and everything that came out with it. I really enjoyed this book.
