Alexandra Monir’s Timeless left me a little disappointed. From reading the reviews raving about this book on Goodreads I expected this to be great a read but I didn’t find it that amazing. The first few chapters didn’t really get me interested. It felt a bit rushed and you couldn’t really relate to the characters and their relationships. Although Michele’s character adored her mum I couldn’t really feel her emotion when she died and before you knew it she was in New York with her grandparents. Although the time-travel concept was interesting and there was a great deal of history in it, the character development didn’t really capture me as I wish it had done. It just left me wanting more, I wanted to actually be there with the characters and feel something but it just left me feeling empty, like there was something missing. Saying this, the book did start to get better as it progressed. I loved each era of New York, it was pretty cool to read about what New York was like in the olden days. I found that I started to get hooked nearer the end of the book as I began to understand Michele’s character better and I have to say the ending has left me curious for the sequel but I’m not going to rush out to get my hands on it. This book is alright if you want something quick to read but don’t expect the next big thing from it.

Very fast an easy read. I wasnt thrilled by his mundane descriptions of life as a post office employee, but i really liked the ending. So my actual score is 3.5 :)

First of all i'd like to apoligise to those people who have been begging me to read this seies. you were all right and i was wrong. Claire is a college student, some sort of genius as she is 16 in a world of 18 year olds. we meet her during the worst day of her life. no exaggeration here. the poor thing is being bullied, she has her clothes thrown away, is pushed down the stairs... honestly it was like they wanted to kill her! this book is written from her POV so we get a bit of insight to her life. she isn't so angsty as your usual teenager. and she really doesn't know what she has let herself in for. All in all a quite enjoyable read. It was read in about 3 hours or so. and yes i will be reading the next one... afterall the end leaves you on a clifhanger... the worst kind possible. stay tuned for my next review on this series. I LOVED this book! It's one of those rare books that is so good, so enjoyable, that once I'd finished it, I didn't want to read anything else for a couple of days; there was almost a sense of loss that the book was over. Jessica Day George beautifully fleshes out the original fairy tale, adding details without losing the soul of the fairy tale. Just wonderful.
