While not Amy Tan's best- It drags but the premise is good and it is different. If you like Amy Tan you will like this novel. I had a hard time with it but I actually love the narrator- Bibi and her sense of humor. I feel like she is truly an "Amy Tan" creation. I also learned a lot from Bibi's tour guide teaching as well as her perspective on the other chracter's thoughts and ways. BUT I cannot relate to any of the other characters at all... Overall I liked the book.

** spoiler alert ** Oh my......I love Fang and Aimee. I knew that this was going to be an introduction to the new arc that Kenyon is starting, and I can see so many possibilities. I love the new characters, and I really love that I'm going to be seeing more of the Were-Hunters. I was very sad that Mama and Papa Peltier passed in this book, but glad that Fang and Aimee will be taking over Sanctuary. It will bring the different breeds together and that will help with fighting the new Daimons that ARE WALKING IN THE DAYLIGHT! I'm glad that there is no end in sight for the Dark-Hunter world!!!

"Exile without complaining is tourism". Besides being funny as hell, I think this book has given me insight into the culture my own faith came out of. I think Wex quotes St. Paul more than the Talmud. It's helping me understand what sort of tone the "Hebrew of the Hebrews" might have taken with the Corinthians for example.
