Very well written, of course; I mean, it is Tom Wolfe. It's amazing how a man over a half a century old whose wardrobe consists of white linen suits can write like he's inside of the head of a college freshman in this decade! Amazing.

This one was fun, but a little preachy.

A true account of a sister and her adopted brother being sent to a corrective Christian reform school in the DR...frightening insight into the hypocrisy of Christian family values. Note that she ends up in SF : )
Walters is a old slut ! she was wooed by the size of anthony weiners weirner, and she bitched and moaned at Sean Connery
I've read most of Auster's oeuvre, my favorite of his novels being Mr. Vertigo, a tale of magical realism that I'd recommend to anyone interested in reading Auster for the first time. Travels in the Scriptorium is a typically Austerian work, which is to say it is at once mysterious, metaphysical, allegorical and self-referential. It is a quick, easy read but definitely a book for those who've read Auster before, so I really can't recommend it for everyone. Prerequisite reading for this would be The New York Trilogy and The Book of Illusions at least — both of which I'd recommend under any circumstances but in this instance mainly to give the reader a more immediate sense of what's taking place in the story.

One of my favorite authors! Tell No One by Harlan Coben is a favorite book of mine, it was a book club pick and I've recommended it to many friends. I can't wait to read *Shelter*

Wasn't too excited to read this for my book club, but it turned out to be really good! The storyline is far-fetched, but it is a work of fiction, and I enjoyed it all the same.

Excellent book by Joan Smith, writing under the pseudonym Jennie Gallant. Celeste, the 19 year old heroine of this book, has managed to escape France during the middle of the French Revolution to return to England and her English father. Celeste is determined to get her father's help in rescuing her mother, who is French, and her younger brother, who are still in France hiding in an insane asylum to escape execution. Her father's stuffy cousin, Lord Degan, insists on helping with the rescue much to Celeste's dismay. This book has everything: humor, adventure, and romance. It is a near-perfect book, in my opinion.
I feel that this is one of the stories that changed my taste in literature forever.
