I didn't enjoy it as much as "If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things", but it is still a wonderful read. The pace and tone of the novel are understated and simple. It's a novel about the ordinary.

There's something about this guy. He's such a prick, but there's something about his honesty that is really appealing. Of all of the television chefs out there, I get a sense that Bourdain is the realest of them all. This book is a decent follow up to Kitchen Confidential, but a lot of his chef friends, food critic enemies, and restaurants are new to me, which made it slightly hard to follow.

Black Hills Nora Roberts is still a magnificent storyteller and entertainer. Black Hills, South Dakota is the destination for this storyline. Coop is a young boy, aged 11, who is sent to his grandparents' farm for a few weeks in the summer while his parents try to save their marriage. He is from New York and is bored by country living. His grandparents are neighbors with a family who has a daughter,Lillian, and is around Coops' age. He is enchanted with her and soon learns to ride horses and finds that she is pretty good playing baseball. She also teaches him to 'track' animals. They also fall in love during this time. He soon returns to New York but promises to come out every summer and whenever else possible. Fast forward ten(10) years...Lillian has founded an animal refuge on her parents' land and has traveled the world to learn everything on how to maintain the animals, their quirks and how to keep them happy. She is ready to come home to teach the summer interns at the refuge and to begin her life's mission. During these years, Coop has been figuring out what he wants to do with his life. He's had several jobs and returns to his grandparents' farm since his grandfather has injured himself and needs assistance. After a few months' of Lil's return, they find that someone is killing the animals. This notion is unbelievable to everyone in the refuge program. Coop is willing to help and also wants to win Lil's love and affection again. I really enjoy Robert's books. There is always romance but she always puts a little history in her books also. For instance, in this book, we learn about cats -- big cats; the fierce and wild ones. You will not be disappointed with this read.

** spoiler alert ** In the third volume of the Spellmans series, our intrepid heronine Isabel is in court-ordered therapy after ignoring a restraining order filed by her neighbour. Isabel is also taking a self-inflicted break from the family detective agency and working in her friend Milo's bar. Her brother David asks her to house-sit for him, and she discovers that he has an empty apartment in his basement, which comes in handy when she loses her job at the bar. She secretly moves into the apartment, whilst working on a case for a friend of Milo's, attending therapy sessions, and trying to decide what she wants to do with her life. The Spellmans are an interesting, if unusual family. Isabel's generation all grew up in the family firm, and while her older brother David decided not to continue in the business, Isabel did. However, she has a great deal of difficulty differentiating the business of a private detective from regular life, and treats most of her daily activities and contacts as if they were investigations. I loved this book, but I do have a problem with the footnotes, which I find terribly distracting.

Recibí esto gratis a través de Goodreads primeras lecturas. Pensé que algunas de las historias en este libro eran de lectura difícil y parecían algo inacabadas, pero en general realmente lo disfruté. Una de las historias más fascinantes para mí fue Volar. No pude dejarlo, sentí por la chica y quedé contento con el resultado. Vampire Weather fue otro cambio de página para mí, el final fue algo que no había esperado. Absolutamente disfruté La Lista de Finales Definitivos y su conmovedora vista de un vampiro en sus selecciones. Best Friends Forever también me tocó, sentí una verdadera emoción por ambas chicas en la historia y el final fue agridulce. Aunque un poco espeluznante para mí, Baby fue otra historia que me llamó la atención hasta el final. Transition, de una de mis autoras favoritas Melissa Marr, fue muy bien escrita y agradable. En conclusión, aunque algunas historias necesitaban un poco más de antecedentes o un poco más de un resultado, disfruté muchísimo de la singularidad de cada una de las historias y siento que sería una buena opción para cualquiera que ame las historias de vampiros.
