Read my review for Double Duce.... .... .... .... Did you read it? Same for Despite Everything.

Argh. bad book. Didn't see the point in many of the stories. (qualifier here is that I read for plot as much as I do for characterisation and theme -- and some of the endings in the stories in this book just didn't make much sense to me) I fail to see much similarity with The Cantebury Tales other than the format of the story perhaps.

It fills me with comfort to know that Celeste Beard will most likely spend every day for the rest of her life rotting in a prison cell. I hope if not for the sake of justice, but for the sake of her daughters she never gets released. I hope her daughters have been able to heal and have happy, safe lives.

I enjoyed the book..but it made me want to read more. So I've added Richard Feynman and Stephen Hawking to my library list.

The last book in the Desperate Dutchess Series. Something I very rarely do is read a book out of order. But I found myself doing so with this one. This is the only book I've read from this series and it can easily be read as a stand alone. Lady Eleanor is certainly an intelligent beauty and I enjoyed the banter between her and the oh-so-sexy Duke of Villiers. There is no deep, dark torment involved with either the hero or heroine. Rather, a perfect mix for a truly delightful romance. There is angst, lots of laughter and enough fire and desire with steamy mild love scenes that kept me enjoying their story. This is a wonderful historical romance that I loved. I was rooting for them to be together, to recognize their love for each other and get their HEA. I loved the ending! A big thank you to Penny for recommending this one to me! Note: The author has also written a final "Extra Chapter" that will catch up on every duchess and her beloved. You can find this on her website @ www.eloisajames.com. (view spoiler)

So, this is the best translation by the experts. It reads like a dry history text and figuring out any useful information is rather wearing. I suspect the Burton translation, while less reverent, is probably more useful.

Fuck Ayn Rand. You're an asshole if you like her philosophy or her books. End of story.

One of my favorite books about an actor. Not as good as O'Connor's book but pretty darned close. Richardson was as great a character as any he played and this book comes pretty close to getting that down on paper.

Read it a while ago, but definitely remember loving it! Set in India about the inner workings of a Sikh family with multiple wives.
