By far my favorite of Shakespeare's comedies, probably because it's also (at least) partly a tragedy. The disenfranchised Duke Prospero and his daughter Miranda are the central figures, as they ensnare the Milanese court and attempt to right past wrongs. Prospero's fiendish servant Caliban speaks some of Shakespeare's most artful and heartbreaking lyrics, while the Prince of Milan (Ferdinand) falls wildly in love with the beautiful Miranda.
Amazing...illustrates the global impact of Ghandi, as well as spiritual insight into the creation of the Panthers movement, as more than a violent, radical group.
I liked this book! It wasn't my most favorite ever but it was a fun read! The whole premise of the story was fun and unique! Alex Flinn has a talent of taking a fairy tale, dusting it off, and making it a totally new story!

Extremely informative on the ways you can be processed after death. I enjoyed the informal commentary by the author which puts a humorous spin on a serious topic. My favorite section was the man who used poor cute guinea pigs to test his plane crash theories. Human composting is the way of the future.

** spoiler alert ** This book took me time to get through, but in the end I was happy to have taken time with the book. In fact I think it is a book that should be read slowly. The vignette of stories are a sort of urban mix of gritty humanity and serendipitous moments. I wasn't as moved by some of the stories as others and it took a little bit of time for the stories to all work with each other, but once they did, I realized what a master McCann is at weaving such a complex story. Some people have a gift of words that truly is artistic. The prose were beautiful and at times moves the reader along in waves of lyricim. In the end when I finally realized - when the characters and the story came full circle, that we are all walking a tightrope through life, we are all dancing on a wire, trying to do tricks, trying not to fall off, I coudn't help but feel all of the emotion that he had built up within the book, yet wasn't aware of his doing so at the time. He is a brilliant writer and I will be looking to read more from him.

Fontamara is one of the great anti-fascist novels. Yet the author was very likely a police spy. Still goes in my top ten reads.

Its good for a story from stepheine meyer, in my view, this book is way better than the twilight saga, though i have both of the series in my book shelf. Its worth reading. The starting/ beginning didn't really seemed interesting until the story was in the "middle". Love Ian and the Wanderer as a couple.

i havent read this book and i mborrowed it from my school and never gave it back!!! i really need to read it
i read this book ravenously. i was so sad when it was over.
My school recently did a production on this book and although I didn't see it, I would have thought it was great. Hating Alison Ashley is a old but well loved book (well here in Australia it is) and I feel that I really should read this sometime. Hating Alison Ashley is about a girl called Erica Yurken. She knew that she was intelligent and everyone loved her. And she knows that she is superior to everyone at the ill-famed Baringa East Primary School. That is, until she meets Alison Ashley, a new girl in her class. As soon as Erica looks at Alison, she utterly hates and and that soon leads to competition between the two, and only one can be on top. If I had to compare the character of Erica to someone, it would be Rachael Berry. At least, an eleven year old version of her. Erica lives in the poor suburbs with her mother and siblings. Erica is "born to be on stage" and is very competitive, she loves to be the best. She can also be a show-off and nosy. But she was a likable character and you did feel sorry for her during the book. Alison Ashley, on the other hand, is the opposite of Erica. She lives in the rich suburbs and is "perfect." She's good at class, all the teachers and students love her and according to Erica, she is a snob. But you soon realise that Erica is overly exaggerating Ashley's personality and we find out that she isn't snobby at all. In fact, she has family issues and is very shy and modest. I also did love all of the supporting characters. I think we all had a primary school teacher like Mrs Belmont, who does remind me of my aunty (who is actually a teacher who teaches middle-school grades.) But my favourite character of all was Barry. He wasn't exactly a bully, just a little shit in class. This book was such a cute read! If I read this back when I was 10 or 11, I would have enjoyed it more that I would have. The story is really cute and there were some parts during the book that made me laugh out loud (especially Drama Night.) I loved the competition between Erica and Alison (well... really Erica.) It did take me back to when I was that age and when I was reading the book, I had too picture myself as 11-year-old Alyssa. This book was also short so I just flew through it. I also especially loved all of the Australian cultural things that were thrown in it. It's been a while since I've read an Aussie book. Overall, a really fun, light read. I might recommend this to my younger cousin and some of my friend's little sisters. I think that they might enjoy it. Rating: 4/5
