I was recommended this book by my first attending of my 3rd year in medical school. He told me though that I should wait until the end of the year before reading it. I've read about 150 pages now. It tells the story of a group of new interns who essentially go through a period of disillusionment and suffering and are rebuilt into jaded, cynical, lazy, manipulative, sex-addicted doctors. The interesting part so far is that they are actually more capable of treating patients with this mindset than before when they were idealistic and caring. Having not gone through my internship year I can't speak on the accuracy of the story, but I can relate to many parts of the book so far.

My first real entry to the world of 'alternative' histories. While not a revisionist view, it's certainly told from an alternate eye. Most of the world's histories are told from the point of view of the victor. Thus, most ignore a large part of the story. This version is not from the point of view of the loser, really, but of the underdog. Rarely is their story told. Like "The Corporation", this book opened my eyes. Read it and see if it doesn't do the same for you.

لم أستطع النوم قبل أن أنهيها !! رثاء فاخر .. للوطن , لمريم , للموسيقى , للفن , للبحر للكتابة .. و للتفاصيل الصغيرة / الصغيرة !! لأول مره أقرأ للأعرج فأجدني مفتوناً .. ما يعاب فيها استخدامه للمفردات الفرنسية و اللهجة الجزائرية بشكل كبير .. لا أنكر أن في اللهجه الجزائرية موسيقى جميلة أحبها .. لكن بعض المفردات يصعب فهمها و استيعابها .. يبقى العمل قمه .. في اللغة وَ الحرف , ولو أن النهاية كانت إنتحار صااارخ وَ مدمي !
