continues the Shadow children series with strong themes of identity. There is a thicker comparison to the holocaust in this book and gets a little more intriguing but didn't feel cliche.

Elizabeth Gilbert is a wonderful writer, writes like she is speaking to directly to you. Its pretty good, a little unrealistic in some ways, and dead on in others. I think that you will only enjoy it if you are in a similiar place in your life.

This was a good read about a girl name Jane losing her arm. I felt like I could really feel what Jane was feeling. It was almost refreshing that this didn't turn into some inspirational story. It was simply about a girl who went through a tragedy and dealt with it as best as she could. It made me really think about what it would be like to go through this experience or to have someone close to me go through it. My main complaints were that the story felt choppy and although I could appreciate the writing, the formatting did start to bother me. Although I liked that the author depicted Jane handling her loss as any normal person would, Jane's absorbance with herself got annoying. Luckily, just when I thought I couldn't take her self-pity anymore, Jane started to "snap out of it." Overall, I enjoyed following Jane's story. I think the author did a great job depicting how any normal person would get through this experience and I feel really grateful to be able to type this review with two hands.

I love these books! They are a quick, fun read. I also learned things about modern Africa. Great beach material

I really enjoyed this book. I got "hooked" on the title, as I've always been fascinated by the world of polygamy and even though it is a novel, I learned a lot about the Mormon history. It took me a little while to figure out the "back and forth" of the time periods, but when that became more clear to me, I could follow it without any trouble. All in all - a very good read.

This book was awesome for a Dodger loving baseball history nut like myself. Not just about the team itself, but about Brooklyn, the fans, the regulars that roamed the stands at home games...Golenbock paints a really clear picture. I can imagine sitting in the stands and hearing Hilda Chester roaming the stands, beating on her frying pan with her ladle.

I had a hard time rating this book because I really thought it was good, and it really gave you pause when you thought about how easily data can be manipulated in order to show what the person using it wants you to see. But when Crichton started receiving--and accepting--all these nonsense awards from all these groups who also agree there's no such thing as global warming, well, that was just a tad too much. It's not like this is a well-reported book; it's someone's opinion made into a novel.

I think I must have read this book about 4 times my fifth grade year.
This book starts off ok, very scary amounts of money pop up, and the girl can't control herself -- hence Shopaholic! It takes wrong turns along the way, I had no will to read it sometimes, it is, sorry to say, full of debts and lies, and cheating as well (not romantically), and it shocks a bit. But I have to say I kept hoping for the best, so I held on to it. From the middle to the end, I read nonstop. Not that it was an amazing book, but it was good. I liked it very much, inspite of the flaws this character RUBS in our faces that she has. She seems to be an out of control car in the middle of a busy highway, and it's nice to see everything working out in the end. If you can't stand feeling annoyed or are used to reading a few pages and chucking the book before finishing, this is not for you. Sophie Kinsella writes in transitional fases: the girl has a problem, she realises she has it and goes through stages of trying and desperating over it, and it works out well in the end. I look forward to reading the sequels. :)
