I despise short stories. Why did I read this, I'm still not sure. It is a good book and very well written, just not my cup of tea. If you enjoy short stories, you'll love this book!

because i feel like i have to review every book i read, i will quickly say that this book is adorable, and chi may be my favorite cat of all time. (i am not counting doraemon as a cat for the purpose of that statement, because he's like some kind of magical supra-cat)my favorite stuffed animal, besides my bunny, is the stuffed chi that sylvia sent me from japan - oh, he is so tiny and curled-up. This was a pretty good book - really amazing survival story. Jan really went through a lot and he came through alive because of his endurance and determination. I liked "The Long Walk" better but "We Die Alone" is still good. Near the end of this book I got almost a little bored. Yet it is still a great non fiction story.

Interesting, but not extremely engaging. Yes, the plot twists. However, took me 3 months to listen to in CD form in the car (18 discs), meaning that it didn't compel me to avidly continue listening. The 2nd of the three narrators was quite dull to listen to.
