This book is fabulous, especially if you have a penchant for poetry/literature and if you love Oregon fiction (think David James Duncan). He even craftily incorporates some magical realism at times, which I usually dislike. The characters were very real to me but I don't suppose it hurts that I read part of it on the Oregon Coast and spent a substantial amount of time in Astoria a few years ago. Like Megan, I'll have to add this to "books that made me cry in public" (not many, honest!). I don't even remember which part, but I just remember it was written with such honesty and beauty that I couldn't help but get misty. Erin and Marissa, I can't help but think that you will have to love it.

This is the only guide book I had when I moved to London, and I had a fabulous time. The descriptions of neighborhoods and lists of clubs/bars are spot on. The only thing it failed to mention was that you really can't afford to live in London. Oh well.

Wow. This book grabs you by the throat and shakes you. It has a powerful message to deliver in such a small package. And imagine Nazi Germany banning it. LOL

Thankfully we voted for the smart one. This book chronicles the life of someone who is struggling to find an identity in a world that looks to label people. Very well written.

Don't know if my neighbors would be happy with me having chickens in my backyard...I live in the city, and the backyards are close together. But this book is all encompassing and very informative should I ever decide to do it.

Pretty funny, satirical, definitely not to be taken seriously. Starts out with such tongue-in-cheek, matter-of-fact scene setting -- whereby the parents can't stand the kids, and vice versa. It's kind of like Hansel & Gretel in a twisted way -- in fact, the father finally is coerced into reading that very story to the kids one night & that's where both the parents & the kids get the idea to get rid of the others. It was pretty funny, in a dead-pan way.

Fascinated with the Siberian landscape and conditions. This author reminded me of the Solshenitzyn "Gulag" and prompted me to start it. A good suspense novel if you know your history, and even if you don't, it will inspire to read up on it....

Jay and Dean from Snow Angel continue to make work their relationship. Noone believe it will long, but after a year they love each other. Dean is still uncomfortable with the idea to be in love with a man. He still like women, a lot, and has no attraction for any men apart Jay. But Jay is not man or women, is not straight or gay, for Dean he is his angel, his lover. Jay is strong due Dean's love. He can stand the fact that his man look to other women, cause he knows that it's only a look and all. And Dean has made so huge pass in their relationship, both in and out of bed. If only other people could understand that what happen in a bedroom sometimes is not a way of life. If Jay loves to be dominate by Dean during lovemaking, this is not mean that Dean is like that also in the real life. The story is pretty short but it's a really good continuing of the previous ebook. Sex scenes are very arousing and it's really good to see a couple who cope the adversity and the desbelief of other people wthout faltering in the certainty of their love. http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/15...
