As was mentioned elsewhere, the artwork really reminded me of One Piece. The story itself was fun, and the characters are charming. I've only read the first volume so far, but the each of the members of the Fairy Tale group seems to have some kind of past that will be explored. I am willing to see where it goes.

I think if you enjoyed Moloka'i, you would also enjoy this book - although Moloka'i still reigns supreme for me. The story of a Korean "picture bride" that immigrates to Hawaii to marry and gain a better life for herself, this is another historical fiction novel that looks at aspects of Hawaiian life over the course of several decades. The characters are richly drawn and I found myself invested in not just the lives and doings of the main characters, but of the supporting cast as well. I learned a lot about Korean and Hawaiian culture while being entertained in the process.

Really good book. This was my introduction to the author. I was impressed with his devotion to his animals and to his responsibility to being a pet owner. I give his wife a lot of credit for going along with all of the dog stuff.

This is a good bedtime book, interesting but not terrifically intellectual, and generally leaves a pleasant but not sticky-sweet state of mind. This is the autobiography of Farley Mowat, from recounts of his conception in a canoe (HOW?!) to moving away from the plains he'd come to love. It contains very boyish adventures and is enthusiastically pro-get-out-and-play!

** spoiler alert ** I'm glad I gave it a few minutes to calm down after reading this. The ending definitely kicked it up a notch; throughout the whole thing i really, really thought Alex was dead like I just accepted it until Raven opened her mouth like why. I wish there was more about her life at the homestead and joining the resistance but I'll take what I can take. Anywho, a great second novel from Lauren Oliver! Looking forward to the next installment! :)
