The book was an interesting take on a modern dystopia. However I was disappointed by so many loose ends and the ending seemed almost rushed. I may look into the rest of the trilogy, but it's disappointing that the other books have different characters.

A great story about a woman who has to learn to build her own life after a divorce. At first I didn't think I would be into this book, but after I got into it I couldn't put it down.
Love, love, love this series...best of this kind of genre I read along with Patricia Briggs and her books.

Brave New World for the ten and up sect, but worth reading even if you aren't a "young adult". Some eye rolling where the futuristic slang comes into play (though I myself am not above quoting Zenon, so zeetus lapeetus, I can't complain), but a great concept and good execution overall. I think it can be a really pivotal text for those not quite ready for Huxley, and the focus on trendiness (lesions are fashionable, for example) creates some pretty haunting, memorable images that'll hopefully make the kiddos think about the value of... you know, being yourself.

I read it in high school, but I didn't rate it because I don't think I gave it enough of a chance the first time around.

Marty is a young college professor who was convinced by some of his female students to go with them to a male strip show. The only man in the club, he is very imbarassed, above all when he finds that he is very aroused by a stripper. But also the stripper seems interested in him and after the end of the show he asks to Marty if they can drink something together. Lonnie dances for women but he doesn't bed them. He prefers a shy english professor. And starts a tender wooing of a night that will led him to an appasionate night of sex. And maybe not only a night. In a very short story, Lorne Rodman manages to create two wonderful characters, very "classical": the shy and clumsy professor and the hot but gentle stripper, who found in each other the realization of their dreams. Lonnie's wooing is heartwarming and you will find yourself to cross your fingers and hope that nothing happen to stop our heros. http://elisa-rolle.livejournal.com/12...

I think this was my least favorite of Green's books, but it was still great. It took me a little while to get into Colin, especially since I knew the ending. The message was awesome and I fell for Colin as a nerdy narrator.

Great read aloud. I can imagine some great fun using this book to teach persuasive writing!
