It's really cool 'cause you really don't "know" it's a school full of vampires at first... I loved it! Well written.

I was surprised by the narrative quality of the opening chapters. The rest is what you would expect of a policy report: objective, impartial, somewhat dry. The recommendations manage to be inspiring, even if we will never see them carried out.

Amazing read. This might be my favorite Hemingway.

Doc tells the story which took place prior to the events of Tombstone, in order to examine one of the most misrepresented man in history - Doc Holliday. Highly recommended. Russell is one of the strongest talents in literature right now.

Posted on Oh, For the Love of Books! Short and Sweet: Let me first start off by saying that the idea behind this book is fascinating! So unique and engrossing. Destiny is a kick-butt and sassy girl with a huge secret. While I figured it out pretty soon, I was interested in the reasons behind the secret. This book was full of steamy, tension-filled goodness! Whew! But while I liked that, it was also a downfall. The romance of the story kind of turned me off. Bring in the cursed love triangle! At least in this one I feel as if she knows who she'll choose. I just hope she doesn't change her mind in the next book. Also, this has a slight case of insta-love. Well, not so much "insta-love" but almost (if that makes any sense). She doesn't fall in love with him the first time she meets him, but pretty darn close. At least I understand why. They are the same and the only two people like that so she feels a connection, but still, me no likey. Overall I really enjoyed it. The plot was so intriguing and I'm waiting impatiently to learn where it goes from here. While I'm on the fence about the romance, I still enjoyed the characters. I can't wait to learn what's in store next for these guys :)

A mix of legend, history, and romance--with a good dose of Irish flavor.

Really loved this and couldn't put it down... until a major problem came about 15 pages before the end. There was no time to resolve it in a way that felt complete; I wish the book had been longer to allow more resolution than a quick flash forward.
This book was so so so so so so boring. I usually love these books! This one is the worst one out of the bunch. I'm not sure if this is the one with the quotes, but I know I don't for sure. If you have read the rest of this series 2 Grrrls then you should read this book so you have read the whole series.
A humbling book about not being too over confident that something as a simple as a checklist could be "below you". You will learn how checklists are used in multiple fields - from architecture to piloting an airplane. When you learn that Walmart provided faster and more efficient care to the people of Katrina, you will learn the beauty of more than one type of checklist. I'm making my daily checklist for things I need to do for my health right now ... and once I learn more about the ins and outs of my job, I will create a checklist for that too. If you like checklists - this will confirm why you use them. If you don't like them, this book will make you think twice about why not.
I'm still a newbie to reading. So I'm reading all kinds of classics and stuff. After finishing the long-ass Invisible Man which was great, I decided to read some shorter novels for a while. My first target was The Great Gatsby which was laying in my school library. Considering many claim it's similar to The Catcher In The Rye. After finishing it, I found it more Of Mice and Men, because of the ending. But as a whole, it was a damn good novel and story. The story revolves around Jay Gatsby. However, it is told from the eyes of a guy called Nick Carraway. The truth is Nick isn't much of a character, and doesn't do much. He won't tell you about himself either. You probably know the narrators of Invisible Man or Fight Club better. Either way, Nick goes to New York and live in a place called West Egg (There's also an East Egg nearby). Right next door to him lives this Jay Gatsby guy, who throws great parties where random people who don't know how this Gatsby even looks step in freely. It is later discovered that Gatsby had an affair with Nick's cousine, Daisy. After that, it's a downward spiral where not many good things happen. Something feels a little strange in The Great Gatsby. It tries to be another cynical and no-hope novel like As I Lay Dying. The problem is, it just doesn't feel like that. I understand it's supposed to show the dark side of the high-class people. However, because the narrative is not judgemental, and the story is mostly told as a third-person narration could tell it, it feels like an ordinary story. You can tell when it gets darker. The right atmosphere in the end comes. But let's say I wouldn't put it next to more "shocking" stuff. Oh wait, I guess that's why I found it in my school library. Is The Great Gatsby a classic many people claim it is? In my book, it isn't. But hey, how many novels will I read and claim they are classics? Despite the fact it isn't a classic for me, I can't say it's overrated. After all, I really did like this book. It didn't really bore me. The plot fitted greatly on the short number of pages and Gatsby is a great tragic hero. Read The Great Gatsby if you'r in need of a short novel. The language is pretty high though. This isn't really Catcher In The Rye.
