He really hits his stride with this third book in the Kenzie/Gennaro sequence. I read it entire in a weekend and was sorry when it was over.

Flower in title It was not long before I fell for Tami (the main character). She is strong and interesting and sweet. You want her to suceed... not to mention Ike is the perfect guy (seriously). It was funny and sweet and I would love to read this again. I loved this book though the end was not what I expected I am happy it ended the way it did. Yay for strong women in books.

I liked this book a lot. I spent the first part of the book confused and unable to put all the different parts together (but I don't think I was supposed too). As I got farther along in the book, the different parts were coming together and I got really into the story. I ended up really enjoying the book. I think that I will definitly give Clive Cussler another try.
This book was banned in Bangladesh and some parts of India, which made me read the book. The story is pretty graphic, and sad. The author starts the book with these words: "let another name for religion be humanism." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lajja
This book had a very intersesting perception of vampirism. They viewed it as a disease that people caught over the centuries with an undercover group curing them with perscriptions. Intriguing!
I asked for more after reading "Velva Jean Learns to Drive". I wanted more of Velva Jean, a young, southern girl with a lot of spunk, drive, determination, and love. I got just what I asked for when the story continued in "Velva Jean Learns to Fly". It's obvious that Jennifer Niven has taken her time to research and has created a fabulous historical fiction that I absolutely could not put down. I didn't want the story to end, I wanted to see what Velva Jean Hart would be doing next. I'm hoping for a third Velva Jean novel, and I'm patiently waiting for the story to unfold. I love the story of this character, even though she is just a cleverly crafted character in a book, she has taken a place in my heart. Velva Jean has become my favorite female literary character. When I grow up I want to be just like Velva Jean Hart! I highly recommend picking up "Velva Jean Learns to Drive" as well as the latest "Velva Jean Learns to Fly", both are very well written, with such character development you feel as if you know each and every one personally. Fast, excellent reads. Enjoy!
I was obsessed with this book in high school, and had my sights set on a career in psychology because of it. I've since taken a completely different direction in life, but this book remains a fascinating remnant of my old life. Definitely an interesting read. Fantastic movie adaptation, as well.

I had high hopes for this book. Not only was I intrigued by the subject matter, but I found the size and feel of this slim hardcover tactilely pleasing. Unfortunately, only about 25 percent of the entries explicated the vagaries of English spelling in a useful way. Still, it was worth reading through and I am sure I will handle it from time to time.

This book was absolutely amazing and such a page turner. Kathleen Kent's writing style was beautifully effortless and at the same time haunting in its truth. It takes you back to such a dark time in our history when people filled with fear wreaked havoc in the name of God while killing men, women and children on its religious path. The saddest realization upon finishing this book is that not much has changed besides time and location, knowing all the while religious persecution is alive and well and thriving to this very day.
