The Hunt detective agency becomes involved to solve the murder of the Chief Executive of a major charity. The irony is that the agency comes up with an idea to create a reward tip hotline funded by donations from the public charities. Payment for their services acting as intermediaries for the police saves the financially troubled detective agency. One of the Hunt Club Team is Mickey Dade- an apprentice detective as well as a cooking school student. Your mouth waters as you try to identify the killer because Mickey keeps preparing delicious meals as he and the other members of the team investigate the crime.

Hamilton's sense of humor and sarcasm in these characters contrast their very real problems of rural poverty, domestic violence and family dysfunction. Not a feel good story, but I love her writing.

I will have to buy this book! Very good information and examples, including summaries at the end of the chapters. I love it. More importantly, it is an easy read for non-tax accountants and attorneys.

Plato's Cave, all of the "ocracies", the Useless Stargazer, The Philosopher King, the Power Pyramid, democracy as a not-so-great form of government--I got little shivers! After wading through the heinously boring conversations that Plato passed off as poetry I got through to the good stuff. His ideas magically seemed to form complex holograms that floated in front of me. "Whoa" I thought, as those holograms gleamed neon blue and ultra violet, rotating in space before me. "Whoa." Because I'm articulate that way. More shivers and goosebumps ensued because a parade of history's best and worst danced past me. All of those people who also probably had the same holograms and said "whoa" (or something like that) when they read The Republic: Freud, Machiavelli, Henry V, Henry VIII, Napoleon, the founders of Christianity, Winston Churchill and Chairman Mao all strutted by me and winked. Goose-effing-bumps.

There is something fun about reading a book in a city that you know well. This one is set in St. Louis/Chesterfield area. i know the area well, yet I can't quite figure out where the house Nick Bradley might be located. Despite that one frustration the book is the third and final book in the heroes of Quantico series. That makes me sad. I've enjoyed them all. IN HARMS WAY is the story of FBI Special Agent Nick Bradley. He hasn't found a woman he can trust with his past until he meets Rachel Sutton. At the first meeting he is attracted to her until he finds out she's at his office because of a feeling she gets when touching an ratty old Raggedy Ann doll. For some reason he isn't able to brush Rachel off or get her out of his thoughts and life. I think this is the best of the three books, again all of Hannon's books stand alone as a good read. You might find yourself hunting down the previous books to read though, so you've been warned. Her books are engaging and have quite a bit of action in them.

Aimee Carter produced one of the best YA books I’ve read yet and I cannot wait to read what happens next to the Gods and Goddess’! A great mystery and romance read as well as a great read for young adults, definitely something for everyone in this book!
