First of all, no 6 year old thinks like this!!! And second of all, it is perverted and disgusting! I even went back to read all the reviews and when I got to the one that said she wished she'd never read the book, I am glad I stopped at page 31...and there were two earlier times when I thought about stopping. One word to sum this book: trash In fact the cover of the book with the little girl is just too cute and oh so misleading!

I read this book for the first time when I was about 12. I loved it. I believe it was one of those books I checked out of the library more than once. I didn't really think about it again until I read the Dark Materials series by Pullman, but that didn't get me to pick it up again. What got me was reading The Tin Princess. As I was reading it, I was having moments of....why does this character sound so familar? :) I finished the Tin Princess, went out, and got the whole Lockhart series. This one is defintely one of my favorites.
I read this often, really, because I love her take on that certain kind of man. She has such voice.

My favorite Charles de Lint.
A different spin on the cinderella fairy tales. Middle School girls will enjoy this...
Interesting. I don't know what to think. I was moved by it but didn't like the non-resolution.
This book was really well written.. it works your mind the whole way through.. making you question what's happening at every turn.. strange and surreal but really amazing take on the meaning of love
AMAZING BOOK i loved it and the plot was so funny and gripping it's about a girl who is such a loser at school and then she dies and gets a brain transplant with Nikki Howard teen super star model CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK

This book is packed with intriguing factoids and compelling conjecture - information which exhorts the reader to forget everything he or she knows about the life of Jesus Christ. Much like The Da Vinci Code and others of its kind, The Gnostic Mystery challenges much of the conventional wisdom surrounding events in first-century Judaea. That said, I found the storytelling itself to be somewhat lacking, in that these interesting nuggets are mostly presented using the same literary device again and again, taking some of the element of wonder out of their content. The main characters all show potential, but none of them reach the kind of depth they deserve. Personally I feel that the speculative-religious content of this book would have been better presented in a non-fiction form akin to such works as Holy Blood, Holy Grail - regrettably, though, this would probably have restricted the potential audience for it. While I have given this book a rather low rating, I would nonetheless recommend it to readers with an interest in shaking off the establishment dogma, and I would encourage Mr. Davila to develop the storytelling aspect of his craft.
