A decent Steinbeck book. Pretty simple but enough to get you involved and make you think.

Philthy Philip Roth. I adore the man's books, and while this one isn't his best, it's one of his funniest and most incisive regarding one of his favorite themes: the modern Jewish identity. There seems to be a positive correlation between how much a book of Roth's focuses on the Jews and how comic it is; in another life, he might've been of the great Jewish comedians, although his disdain for Woody Allen is well-documented. I spilled a bagel and lox on my paperback copy of OPERATION SHYLOCK and now the pages sort of stick together.

Ok, it's Mad magazine in book form. :) In this one, my favorites were the satire on the Star Trek III movie, called "Star Bleech III, The Search for Plot". I also liked "Things You Can Do For Your Dog on His Birthday"! Also included are "Simple Games and Pastimes for the School Drop-Out" (an example - 2 color rubik cubes), Spy vs. Spy, The Lighter Side of ..., The Mad Practical Driving Test and Beverly Hills Cop-Out.
Really wonderful book. A fantastic combination of beautiful one-liners interlaced with a touching story. Hard to describe but I can't imagine not liking it.

This book made me cry.
This book is due back to the library tomorrow. I'm not going to renew it. I'll have to check it out later in the year and try again. I definitely want to read it, but I just couldn't get into it right now (for various reasons, most of which having nothing to do with Bryson). Which is a bummer. It was just starting to get good.

I loved this book! And Po. This book was absolutely amazing and the romance was fantastic! Hated how (view spoiler) The beginning was a little slow, but still really good. Kristin Cashore was pretty good at making me feel how Katsa did, but (view spoiler)

A terrifying, intelligent book. It's not just a "true crime" time waster. Provides great insight into how Bugliosi got Manson put away, and vividly describes the events surrounding the murders, not just the deeds themselves. I couldn't sleep with the light off for about a week after finishing this one.
I read this book in Middle School. My mother had gone into a period of getting every king book as it came out. This was one of the 1st BIG novels i ever got into. Wow, what a mind warp for a 7th grader. I remember the feeling of dirty associated with this book. What caused this novel to be connected with such a feeling of profound filthiness? The book opens with the breath of life being breafed into the lungs of Mr. King by a fat woman what just binged on junk food. Imagine being awoken from death by the taste of type-2 diabetic slober, tainted with slim jims and hydrox. Its enough to make you want to die all over again. After this i read Sphere. This was about the time the movie came out. To bad there was no crapaholic 500 page version of deep blue sea. dag yo.

El libro me pareció realmente interesante. Te dio una idea del cartel de Medellín, tanto lo bueno como lo malo.
