You'll never think the same about your food after reading this. Why do we grow so much corn in this country? Where does it all go? Are Federal subsidizes helping or hurting? Taste this.
A not-for the squeamish mystery/thriller. I enjoyed it a lot, but I knocked it off because I could see the outline of the solution 1/4 of the way in. Read it to enjoy the off-kilter characters anyway.

** spoiler alert ** Seriously? Adam's an effing zombie?!?! Argh! I was putting up with the weird zombie thing in hopes that she'd smart up and pick Adam but no, now he's a freakin zombie! I don't even want to read the next one.

There are innumerable good things to say about this novel. It operates on so many levels--magical-adventure, "San Francisco" novel (taking place in my old 'hood), exploration of big-city socio-politics, and then spiritual/personal evolution. And it achieves all these things in a thoroughly entertaining and page-turning way. There are very few books that I can say have permanently altered my day-to-day perceptions of the world, but this is one of them.

This book was so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!I can't wait till the next one,the end kinda had a twist to it but it makes you want to read the next one.
This was a quick and easy read, but had some valuable information. If nothing else it was very thought provoking on how you handle your current relationships at both home and work.
I kinda have to plug this on here, dont I?

4.25 stars! First, I should disclose I'm a big fan of Anderson Cooper so this may not be a totally unbiased review. I didn't quite know what to expect from this memoir. Well, maybe I expected to get more of a "journalistically clinical" view of his correspondant experiences and perhaps some ego. I did not get either. And what I did not expect, however was for Anderson to be so open and raw with his emotions. We still get the correspondant's experiences but Cooper uses the emotional fingers of his past tragedies to touch touch the hands and heart of current events. Kudos Cooper, on showing us your vulnerability.
