I have been putting off reading this book for a while now, because it never seemed like something that I would really like. This past week, I decided to give it a try, and I am really glad that I did. Suzanne Collins creates a really disturbing world; a world that really didn't seem like it was too far from current reality, if you think about it. I mean, how many people, including myself, watch Jersey Shore because of the drama and fights that happen every week? In The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen sacrifices herself to go to the games, instead of her younger sister, Prim. The games are literally a fight to the death where two children from each district are chosen to represent. You heard me. Children fighting to the death. Did I mention that the entire nation is forced to tune in and watch, as a reminder of the deference the districts need to have to the Capitol? I told you, clearly disturbing. I really liked this book, but it didn't leave me feeling warm and fuzzy when I finished. I felt unsettled and off, but I think that was the point. Hopefully the movie lives up to the story!

This was amazing. The audio version was done by James Earl Jones (I believe) and it was just unreal. The story is classic and suitable for children and adults alike. Such entertainment!

By far my absolute favourite out of the Twilight saga, I did find it so gripping. I don't usually go for books like Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn (books filled with romance and fantasy stuffed triangles of friends and foes)but I was attracted by trailers and posters of the film adaptations and wanted to have read each book before watching it's adaptation (I find from experience, I prefer it that way). The book begins not long after New Moon dropped off. This book is primarily about the romance between Edward and Bella and Jacobs part in this triangle...you become more aware of the werewolves and what their lives are like which is something I liked about this book. If I had to pick on of the books in this saga to read again it would definitely be this book, Eclipse! :)
Ifinally gave up around page 300. I just didn't care for the all knowing narrator who was full of description and 'if the reader will bare with me while I induldge' paragraphs. Eh.

** spoiler alert ** Every time I picked up this book, I got an uneasy feeling that something bad was going to happen on the next page or the next chapter. Experts are always telling people NOT to try to tame wild animals--"all wild animals eventually revert to their true nature." Had I know this story was going to have a happy ending, I would have relaxed a bit and probably enjoyed the story a bit more. Good story!

This was the first Jodi Picoult book I read and I think it was a great choice!! Just a warning though if you do not like sad books I don't recomend this book. I wouldn't say I loved this book but if you read the end you would know why but still five out of five!!!
