You know what, I liked this book. I feel no loyalty to the original, etc. and come on - Rhett and Scarlett had to get back together. I don't care! I liked it!

I've finished 'We Rage, We Weep.' This is a well written book that gives the reader an insight into the day of a caregiver of an Alzheimers patient. Anyone who is, or has cared for a loved one with this horrific disease will be able to relate to the author.

Be prepared--this book doesn't end! It does but it really just seems to stop and continues into #2. When I read it, I was so into it and then it was over. I actually through the book at the wall b/c I wanted it to keep going. The rest of my family waited until all 3 were available so they wouldn't have to go through what I did.

This nonfiction book about a librarian's experiences at a branch library in a city outside of LA is a fun, quick read. At first, the choppy writing style was difficult to enjoy, but I found myself giving in the rhythm and dry humor. I love that the author in awe of the fact that libraries exist with such an unlikely mission--to give away books to anyone who promises to bring them back. The author is male and gives a little bit of insight on gender politics in a female-dominated field. The discussions of race are not particularly nuanced, but do provide a perspective on working in a public institution in a neighborhood where racial diversity, and at times tension, is an everyday challenge. My favorite example is a section on possible racial violence on Cinco de Mayo: "On the morning of May fifth, we get a few e-mails at the library that tell us the city's official position on gangbanging, loaded automatic weapons, and potential race war. The city is unequivocally against it" (p.138). As someone who frequents Boston's Central Library and a Boston branch library, I can't help but love stories about the craziness that takes place in libraries. And then there's the confession of the library's secret shame...

I don't remember when I read this because I read her books usually as soon as they come out (except the most recent-I can't seem to get into it. And since I read them all they all meld together but I know I loved them all! Definitely try her out!

More fun and free-spirited than her other books. I actually liked the hero in this one and the heroine's romantic ideas were pretty funny when they could have just been pathetic. Again having trouble remembering.
Ghosts is my favorite Ibsen to date, I think primarily because of the remarkable opinions that Ibsen expresses. Acknowledging that true and honorable commitment to a lover is not predicated on the existence of a marriage certificate in the late 19th century, when we're barely able to admit that as a society in the 21st century? Ibsen was a remarkable man.
