The shadow series is certainly different from the other Ender saga series. The others are more philisophical and this is more back to how Enders Game was, with really smart kids becoming commanders in a war. I like both types of book. I think Orson Scott Card is a great author. He is obviously very intelligent and it shows in this novel.

While I loved the movies, the books were the first to capture my attention. The Hobbit was a precursor to the Lord of the Rings. It was Bilbo's story, and the first in the series that I read. I was taken in by The Hobbit, and I found it to be the best book of the four. Very good read.

I listen to books via audio versions and like Audible.com's version of this book. I believe a few of this book's genre merit reading by anyone today. This is probably one of the best of these books. It deals with the Mormon community rather pointedly, in that our lady-in-distress is having trouble fending off the affections of a Mormon leader, who is already married several times over, now wanting her.
