I purchased this simply for Rachel Vincent's story, which was brilliant as expected (but as a fan of hers, I'm obviously biased). As a whole though, I could only give it three stars because there were a few stories I absolutely loved and others I didn't enjoy much at all. There was nothing particularly wrong with them - it just felt like there was too much back story, too much world building and not enough kicking butt. In saying that, the stories were varied and intelligent, and I've been introduced to a few authors whose work I'll be checking out further.

Anticlimactic. Still a good read. You want so bad for Okonkwo to succeed, but like so many things in life, you have to somehow deal with what you've been dealt.

Pretty good resource for classroom web stuff, but a little less specific than I'd hoped.

I remember liking this book, but it was a little disinterested at points. A good view of post-WWII Germany and the communist effects that arose after that...though I haven't read any historical works on that, only fictional representations of the truth. It's a good read from what I remember.

Richard Newman is a badass of a poet - brutal at times, always elegant. The bleak midwestern landscape of his hometowns, where even the ditches have names, are a perfect backdrop for his sad and funny poems. The boy can work himself some meter, too. Favorite poems include his monster sonnets, which expose the existential angst of your favorite matinee movie idols, including Mothra ("Let's face it, I make a shitty monster").

** spoiler alert ** This book was sure fun. A story about a corporate office in downtown Chicago, it's something like a novel version of the The Office tv series. Just smarter and much more realistic. I loved the names of the many characters, like Genevieve Latko-Devine and Karen Woo -I swear I have worked with these people at some point in my job history! My only question (for those who have read it, otherwise this might be a spoiler): who was it at the very VERY end? Lynn and Tom Mota? Old Brizz and Joe Pope? Were they ghosts or were they real characters that never had names? I need to know!

As predictable as it was, I still loved getting to experience the lust at first sight turned into I'll love you forever. Nora Roberts sure does have a way with words, and I can see why she's so popular.
