Of all the O'Brian books I have read to this point, I thought that this one was the least interesting. There was hardly any action at all and there was too much emphasis and description on things that just didn't interest me or seem to help move the book along. The last 20 pages or so had the most action in it and does make me want to pick up the next book though...

Carl Hiaasen on crack. Tim Dorsey writes about a serial killer who only kills people society asks to be killed. Tim thinks of himself as an even tempered and mellow person because he takes out all of his aggression and "pissed off" behaviors via the surreal and fiction killer, Serge A. Storm.
Probably the most entertaining business book out there.

I don't know where this book is going. I love the characterization and the random parrot story....but when is this going to get good!?

This was a hard read, it deals with the flip side of rape. Another compelling read from Jodi Picoult
slow start, several contrived character traits, but an intelligent, witty look at life on the German side of WWII. LONG ALERT!

Six stars. So glad a friend recommended this one. Both the title and the publisher's description of this book left me cold---I didn't care about the music industry. But that industry is just the starting point. Every chapter features the points of view of different characters, and all the stories interlock. The end is set in the near future, which is thought-provoking, and yeah, I guess at the end the writing is what's called postmodern, but I liked most of it. This is a modern-day masterpiece.

A quick and very enjoyable read - recommended to me by a woman who goes to Italy a couple times a year to take language classes. Oh, to be brave enough (and have the $) to chuck it all and follow Alice's lead and go and have a real adventure. Since I can't, reading this book was the very best substitute. Can't wait to read her follow-up book.
