Grimy, horrifying and heartbreakingly beautiful, Irving is a master storyteller.
WOW very creepy. The characters and the things they do to each other are scary!!!! This author has a great sense of the macabre and is great at providing very descriptive gross-outs of behavior!!! The plot gets a little simplistic at the end but a very worthwhile ( if disturbing) sketch of some very troubled souls.

I think this book is awesome. This is one of my favorite books I would rate it five out five because it is a very easy to understand the story. I also loved it because of the way the author lined up the events of the story. This is a great book for me since it is for young adults and it won the Newberry Award. I also liked this book because it is written by Louis Sachar which for me writes very good books such as “There’s a boy in the girls Bathroom.” From this book they made out a movie which I have already seen. The movie obviously does not include as many detail as in the book. By having more detail in the book I understood the book way more than the movie. I would recommend you to read the book first and then watch the movie. You will get a pretty good idea of what the story is about. The story is about a kid that lives with his family which has always had bad luck. Stanley Yelnats Which is the main character gets blamed of stealing a pair of shoes. Instead of Jail he gets taken to a camp called Camp Green Lake in the desert to build up character digging five by five holes to find something. That big desert was a lake some years in the past and they are looking for a treasure. I’ll let you find out the rest. Read it!!

Started long ago and can't pick back up and finish. Someone tell me it gets better?
definitely a book I'll have to reread as I sped through it pretty quick. About two second-rate boxers--the ambitions and failures and disappointments that come to us in life: "he felt the guilt of inaction, of simply waiting while his life went to waste. No one was worth the gift of his life, no one could possibly be worth that. It belonged to him alone, and he did not deserve it either, because he was letting it waste. It was getting away from him and he made no effort to stop it."

Ah, this book didn't disappoint! A classic Lord Peter tale that was truly enjoyable. :=D
There were some fun parts, but it really, really implausible. Too many coincidences, too many plot points never explained fully. And not enough character development. Honestly, it felt like watching one of those goofy made for tv movies.

Another typical John Grisham novel.
My favorite characters aren't always the sharpest tools in the shed concerning intelligence, but they ALWAYS have the most incredible rapier wit. Charley Davidson made me laugh from the first page. Some Grim Reaper:) What an amazing debut author!
