I love the phrasing and perspective in this book. My favorite line was "Their hands are kind" near the end of the book.

Has some of the dreamlike quality of The Virgin Suicides, but it's a little more business like and formal in the sense that he had to use traditional plot advancement to push the story. Overall, I thought it was a great read. Lefty and Desdemona were comical. Calliope and the Obscured Object were kind of heartbreaking. It was interesting the way the narrator chose to refer to her best friend as "the Object".

This book reminded me of college. I suppose that doesn't speak especially well of me or my alma matter, but I find the similarities comforting. Also remarkable, is the kalidoscopic narrative Ellis lays out. Written from multiple perspectives, you're never quite sure what happened, thereby embodying the written word's power to be utterly whimsical and subjective. As my post-modern lit prof would have said--It has no center. Pretentious, but true. I hated the film adaptation. Horrid casting, over acting, and a litany of other artistic sins. Better to skip it and read the book.

Spell Bound is book 12 in the Women of the Otherworld Series by Kelley Armstrong. I LOVED THIS BOOK! I loved it so much that I wanted to reread it as soon as I finished it. Savannah is the best character EVER! Elena was my favourite in WOTOW series until this book. I adore her so much. She's tough and vulnerable, she's powerful and (view spoiler) Savannah has so much going on emotionally and this book is a whirlwind of action, emotion, and mystery. I don't want to give too much away, because this book is meant to be read over and over and over again. Personally, I think this is the best book in the series....although I haven't read thirteen yet.

I didn't really have any expectations going into this book. I haven't been reading as much as I usually do so I was just excited to be making the time to actually read. I am so glad that I chose this book to read! What a great plot...and I don't even like romance or feel-good stories...maybe I am becoming a softie :) I wasn't sure at the beginning if I would read the whole book or not with the way it was going. I am ever so glad I did! Loved how the narrator of the story was a single guy and how his feelings changed about Spring. There were editing errors that bothered me somewhat, but not enough to actually put the book down.
