March 31-April 1, 2016 3.5 stars, but I kinda have to disagree with myself on this one. It was clear who ONE of the bad guys was, but this one was tricky! It sorta seemed like there were bad guys everywhere you looked! I think my favorite part is the Eve/Feeney stuff. EMOTIONAL!!! I cried, not gonna lie. And on my 5th+ time reading it!!! I thought I remembered the ending being ... I dunno... LONGER. But it wraps up a bit too quickly, I thought. September 29-October 1, 2014 February 1-2, 2012 February 28-March 1, 2011 3.5 stars. I dunno. I guess I just thought it was obvious who the bad guy was (well, at least which side was doing it), and I felt like she didn't go after them like she should have. *shrugs* She wasn't even out investigating them most of the book! May 5-8, 2011 3.5 stars... Call me crazy, but I'm not the biggest fan of Satanism... But this book was still very enjoyable... I did listen to all 10 hours in a 24-hour period that included quite a bit of sleep! In this book, we pretty much know who's killing people from the get-go, but the issue is WHERE'S THE EVIDENCE??? And the ending was emotionally traumatic, but wasn't as HOLY-FREAKING-COW, EVE-IS-GOING-TO-DIE-ANY-SECOND, COME-ON-ROARKE-DRIVE-FASTER as in previous books. For me, the mystery in this book was less interesting than the character development. Peabody is REALLY interesting and has quite an interesting knowledge base and softer side! Feeney and Eve's friendship is tested. Roarke turns out to be quite superstitious! But is it just me, or is Nora/J.D. quite obsessed with Ireland/Celtic stuff? Yeah, I thought so!

What a weird book - why is there no introduction to the weird words and what they mean. You begin reading and there is no explination of what it means and you are expected to just figure it out. So I'll tell you - "sonn" is like SONAR - basically they are like bats. It was pretty dumb, but I just kept reading it anyway... my mom got me to read it and now we make fun of it. I guess it's brought entertainment for that.

I liked how it shows that everyone in your life, you may or will see in another day how they affected you or vice versa. That it may be small to you but it's a large impact to them. Such as the little girl in the fire or his old buddy in the army, just those things really open your eyes to see how you treat people. Made me be nicer to everyone I talk to, friends or not.

But soon, they have doubts, especially when the order to take multiple wives hits close to home. I wanted to keep reading this because I liked the characters but I find the history of the Mormon church extremely distrurbing. Note: This is book one in the Brides of Gabriel.
