To me, this slim volume is what Harold Bloom should be remembered for. This is THE document to read on the subject of Freudian literary criticism.

Someone I know was using this to practice natural family planning (NFP). It wasn't me - seriously! The book is very informative from my quick skim of it, but let me just say, I finished reading having reaffirmed my distinct impression that NFP is best for pregnancy achievement, not birth control.
Oh! My God! What a book! I am from Alabama, live in DC, and work in housing law -- so I often feel like I am pacing along in the vague shadow of MLK's legacy. This book did an amazing job of explaining that legacy alongside the odd trivia that makes his murder so eponymous. James Earl Ray curled himself up in a tiny ball and escaped from a Missouri prison in the bottom of a bakers bin. He drove around the country in a white Mustang. Shot some porn. Took some salsa classes. And what ensued next is undoubtedly the most bizarre assasination in American history. Totally fascinating. I can't wait to discuss this book with someone; that conversation will probably go like this: "What about _________?" "I know! That was so crazy!" "And what about _________?" "I know! That was insane." [Repeat about a thousand times.] Authors like Hampton Sides should consider their work a service to the nation. I use superlatives too often in these reviews, but I would take them all back now if it would improve the quality of this statement: Hellhound on His Trail is the best nonfiction I have read in years. [Insert other superlatives here.]
this is my all time favorite book

Another example of how the affects of war haven't changed over 2400 years. This is a must read. Trojan Women focuses on the women left behind after war. I have read several translations of Trojan Women, depending on your taste, some are easier to understand than others. I recommend Richard Lattimore's translation.
Ultimately the conclusion it comes to is a little silly, but is this ever a fascinating beach/train/fluff read. Dark, dishy, and does it ever deliver.
Everyone Loves a Hero... how true is that? All I can say is I absolutely fell madly in love with Cole. He had the whole he-whore past thing going on however he was an absolute sweetheart who said all the right things at exactly the right moments. He was a real saint too for putting up with the struggling insecurities of Olivia. I liked Livvie okay but at times I just wanted to smack her across the face and ask her what the heck her problem was. Yes she didn't have the greatest relationships prior to Cole and her Mother's illness truly messed with her head but come on woman listen to your father and trust your gut! Cole was so attentive and understanding of her insecurities that by 1/2 way through the book I was ready to break up with her! She was a sweet and caring person but she didn't totally do it for me which is okay because sexy as sin Cole and the way he treated Livvie with his kindness and smooth words totally made up for it!

This is probably my favorite book of all time. I was completely mesmerized by the descriptions of Japan at that time. Also, the lifestyle of a geisha is so foreign to me that I found it absolutely fascinating. The subtleties of behavior that can have so much meaning is an unknown concept in these days where nothing is subtle and the value that is placed on traditions and ritual is quite extraordinary. A must read for any woman or man who likes good chick lit.
