No question Rebecca Wolff knows how to craft the language. And, in addition, she weaves a spell here. Is the spell between the reader and Wolff? Or between 15-yr.old Ginger and the Motherwells, the strange new couple in town? After all, this is a town with a history of witchcraft. There is also a sexual tension that vibrates throughout the book. This is a coming-of-age story that will bring back to you the pain of adolescence.

What I learned from this book? Good grief! I learned soooooo much! This book opened my eyes to the path toward self-discovery, self-love, and learning how to deal with difficult relationships. I very highly recommend this book, not just for people who live with an alcoholic, but for anyone who is trying desperately hard to fix a bad relationship, whether it's with your spouse, your parents, your children...with anyone you love. I learned how my upbringing has the power to wreck my current and future relationships if I let it. I learned how to let go of the unfixable...that the only person I have any control over is myself. I learned that I can let go of all that free-floating guilt that I never earned. What a relief! The tenets of this book are so simple...you wonder why you didn't think of them yourself! But the truth is, Ms. Beattie writes in such a simple, straight forward way that even though you may have heard much of this before, you never really processed it. At least that was my experience. I wish I had read this book years ago!

I think I want to re-read this. It was a little hard to follow on my plane ride and I think I would enjoy what was going on more if I didn't get interrupted every ten minutes. It took me a long time to figure out who the main character was and then i wanted to ignore him and read more about Ellie once she popped up. She was kind of dumb and overly-opinionated but it was an actual personality trait that everyone else sort of lacked, so you actually latch onto her pretty quickly. That was sort of passive aggressive, but I don't know another way to word it. When I did read it in long spurts I liked all the strange surreal parts. The book is kind of hard for me to read because I'm the kind of person that speaks in paragraph-long sentences separated by commas and this book is almost entirely short sentences. I liked it and I will give it another shot after I read a few other things.

I bought this book on a whim and I am so glad that I did. I read it in three days at work. The characters have such depth and the writing style just grabs you into the story and holds you there. By far the best book I've read in the past few years. I've suggested it to everyone I possibly can, and hopefully after seeing good reviews, more people will read it too.

I think it's an understatement to say that Jennifer L. Armentrout has taken this world by storm! First she stunned everyone with Half-Blood, then she took our breath away with Obsidian. Now there's another huge explosion where I admit that I have Pure is the best one yet! There are no words to describe how fantastic Jennifer L. Armentrout is at toying with your emotions! I wanted to laugh and cry and pull my hair out. She managed to hook me on from the first page, blindfold me, then strap me onto a roller coaster that would not let go. Even if I despised Greek mythology (which is the opposite of true!), I would've loved this book anyways because of how breathtakingly twisting and original everything about it was! Alex, our half-blooded heroine, has to be one of the best, kick-ass, snarky, and totally fun characters I've ever read about! You do not want this girl on your opposing team. She's equal parts strength and vulnerability that make her as easy to admire as she is to connect with. The romance was pure and absolute perfection! ♥ Somehow, even as I was falling deeper in love with Aiden (the forbidden pure-blood), Seth managed to wedge his way into my fictional-boy-filled heart. Between all the twists that occur, you don't know what to think! Then there is The Pool Scene. And you may never breathe again. Intensely gripping and action-packed from the start, Pure is undoubtedly one of the best sequels I've ever read! It easily makes my favourites list and leaves me craving for more. If you haven't started this series yet, what are you waiting for? ;) BUY or BORROW?: This should not be a question. Or if you have to ask anything, it should be BUY or BUY? because this is one amazing novel that you must have on your shelf! (Original review at Mimi Valentine's YA Review Blog)

i fucking love this book. it's been a few years, but i used to read it over and over- it cracks me up every time.
I re-read this book for the first time in several years. I was surprised by how childish the wording and storyline was (compared to the latest books). I wonder if this was intentional by the author to mature the writing as Harry matured, or if the author's style incidentally matured as well. I still enjoyed this novel and noticed more than I did previously.

The funniest punctuation and grammar book you'll ever read!!! I'm constantly afraid of boo-boos as a result. I appreciate her appreciation, and can stand even less to be exposed to anything involving the movie Two Weeks' Notice.

I really liked this book when I wasn't gagging. The part about the poop being dried in the sun really grossed me out.
