A friend was telling me about this book. How we each express our feelings to our spouses ( and other family members) in different ways and how those expressions are taken. Do we speak the same language? Includes stories that other couples have been through and how they find the way to communicate with each other. It even has a section on communication with your children. There is a quiz in the back to find out what language you (and your spouse) speak. It is insightful to understand how different people express and respond to their feelings.

Cool gadgets and dirigibles made this an enjoyable steampunk book. The end was a bit of a cliffhanger and I can't wait to get started on the next book in the series.

This is the story of the analysis and conservation of a Hebrew manuscript created in fifteenth-century Spain and saved from destruction during the shelling of Sarajevo by a Muslim librarian. The story, which is based on a true story, has many twists and turns. The restoration of an ancient hagada sounds dry but this book is a must read.

I enjoyed Graceling, but wasn't blown away. But I liked enough to buy the sequel when it came out. I just never got around to reading it. My husband picked up Graceling, read it, enjoyed about as much as I did (which is to say he felt like reading the sequel), AND COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I mean seriously, we were in Paris, and all he wanted to do was read this book! It was hilarious! So I figured I should get off my butt & read the thing. Holy cow! I WISH I HAD WRITTEN THIS BOOK. I LOVED IT. Words cannot express how much I loved it! It moved me to tears at the end. Seriously. Very few books have done that. I think it's in part due to what happened in the Epilogue. In short, READ THIS BOOK. I named it the best book I read in 2010, tied with the Hunger Games trilogy.

I love, love love Richard Brautigan's poetry. One of my favorites: Karma Repair Kit: Items 1-4 1. Get enough food to eat. and eat it. 2. Find a place to sleep where it is quiet, and sleep there. 3. Reduce intellectual and emotional noise until you arrive at the silence of youself, and listen to it. 4. -end- And the story In Watermelon Sugar was one of the wierdest things I've ever read. And coming from me, that says a lot. I dig it. The first story, Trout Fishing in America, can in my opinion, be skipped though.
Me encantó!!!!

A quick and easy read that left me wishing I actually owned a bookstore on the beach. Someone else had commented that the book reminded them of the adolescent books they use to read. Maybe that was why I liked it. It did remind me of the books I use to read as a teenager during the lazy days of summer when I had no other cares in the world.
