What a fascinating book. Philosophical, profound, fantastic writing. I love when Kundera jumps in and provides commentary/exposition on the characters as the author. I can't wait to read more of his works.

This book was so good, I could not put it down. It's a true story and was just crazy. I can't even describe it, I should have been depressed by all the stuff that this little family went through....but I was more shocked. Anyway, it makes you feel lucky for everything you have, and it's actually pretty uplifting. ;)

Not a deep read. A fast, somewhat shallow and predictable read. However, the political story is interesting. Not much character development. A REAL airplane read, but I enjoyed it. I'm almost embarrassed to say that, as this is REALLY not my style. But it filled the space with some 'light' thriller/mystery reading for a week. But now I really need to read something higher on the IQ scale. LOL

I loved this story for its beautiful uncovering of what really matters in life. It is a journey that we all can learn from. I found out for myself that all challenges can be opportunities for growth. I need to purchase this book for the constant reminders it feeds me.
