Just not my type of book.

It was a well-written biography, but some parts were sort of confusing because there were many different people in Jacqueline's life, and sometimes I forgot who was who. The end was abrupt. Reading this book helped me realize that although Jacqueline DuPre was amazing at cello, she was only human. Being a child prodigy made her feel isolated and different from everybody else, and she wanted to be loved for who she was and not just for being famous. Even though I often wish I was really amazing at cello, I realize that being an ordinary person is probably a good thing.

My first description to my sister about this book was: "It's a really cute book--it's about a murder." Okay, so maybe that isn't the best way to describe it. But I really liked this book!

I wasn't familiar with Christian Bobin at all, till one of my best friends Shandiz gave me 5 of Bobin. After that I fell in love with his hand-pen. I don't know their French name,none-translated in English, "DIVANEH VAR","Isabel Bruje", ......I love it

The format of the book is perhaps my favorite aspect of it: every nation -- no matter how large/small, populous/deserted, rich/poor, developed/struggling -- is profiled in the same manner with the same amount of information. To further accentuate this, nations are listed alphabetically, which also makes for easy reference when you're watching a NGC special and just have to know a little more about Reunion or Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (which I still maintain would be a great name for a band). The pictures are beautiful and for the most part, are not the typical sights you would expect to see and even if they are, they are photos from a different angle (St. Mark's square in the morning from the side grottos of the piazza, for example).
It saddened me to learn that Charlotte Bronte's most deranged character was also her most autobiographical.
I was forced into reading this book and o be honest i didnt care for it at all...It was a waste of time
Great reference for activities for all ages.
I'm counting everything that I read in high school or before I graduated college as something I read as a youngin, just so you know. For some crazy reason, I chose to read this on my own my senior year of college. It's not like I didn't have enough work to do already. Actually, that's a lie. By the spring semester of my senior year I only had a few credits left that I needed to take, so it was a light semester. This is a very long book, but it was well worth it. I learned a ton. Too bad I don't remember much of what I read.
