I think that if a book is going to cover this sensitive of a topic, that it must be impeccably written. This just wasn't good enough for me.
Another brilliant Jack Reacher book, a little violent in places but the subject matter warranted it...you've got to love the vigilante!

One of my all-time favorites. For anyone who loves anything to do with Jane Austen, it is a great read. Such a fun book!

JA's latest and best book, which could spawn a sequel (he said hopefully, even though I have heard he is writing something along the lines of themed western) or two. The book centres on three days of battle around a hill, involving Black Dow, the ultimate hired killer, Bremer dan Gorst, in disgrace and trying to redeem his honour, and Prince Calder, who will do anything to enhance his hold on power. Nobody wants to die, expecially in somewhere totally unimportant, but the ways that the characters face death is as varied as their backgrounds. In one astonishing sequence an engagement is described from the point of view of ewach of the characters involved and makes for a stunning piece of writing.
This man was amazing and his journey from extremely poor little boy in the south to a famous literary figure is fascinating and heartbreaking. It is shameful that someone had to endure all this in a country that is supposedly free. But it's also inspiring that a man born 100 years ago had to go through this, but now we have a black president. I highly recommend it.

Comedy writing isn't as easy as one thinks.

I reread this book a couple years after the first time. I enjoyed it more because I knew not to expect much plot or charcter wise and was simply able to enjoy the comical ride.

I picked up the first book of this trilogy at Borders because an employee said that if I liked Twilight I would like this book. The story was good, the writing a little bit more mediocre. But I can't not finish something I've started, so I read the rest of the trilogy as it came out. My biggest beef with this book was the predictability, however I still managed to enjoy the story. 3 - 3 1/2 stars

Well, more like anthropology but whatever. Accurate (meaning he seems to write it all down but perception & reality...well, you know), sometimes pleasant, long, thorough.

I really enjoyed this book and I thought the author had some good ideas. It teaches that people feel loved and appreciated in different ways, and that you need to pay attention to how your spouse feels loved so that you can fulfill that need instead of trying to show your love in ways that aren't necessarily meaningful to them. I would recommend it!
