This book holds your attention. The only thing I wanted more of was the development Juanita. I'm guessing Neal Stephenson is a giant, sexy, nerd who writes for other giant nerds. Because of this I doubt he could realisitically create a non 15 year old woman; would his fan base understand the character if he could? Then again I've only read this book of his. Cheers to multiple books.

I love Diane Mott Davidson's series of mysteries. They're entertaining and easy reads. The main character is a colorful caterer that solves mysteries as a "side" hobby. Recipes are interspersed in the books. I recommend reading the series in order, from the first novel, as they build upon one another.

This was my second book of Robins to read and I have to say that she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. In this title, Robin has masterfully woven romance, faith, current events, and mystery all into one. The romance part of the book is innocent and clean which I appreciated. Robin drops clues throughout the story and I found the mystery side of the story exciting and intriguing right up to the very end. The emotions and heart of the characters displayed on these pages are deep which makes it easy to connect with them. Robin had my attention from the start of this one and kept it until the very end. I was in fact disappointed that the book did come to an end as I was enjoying it so much. A wonderful read that I highly recommend.

A body of a young man was found in the Alsakan wilderness, Krakauer retraces the man's life and speculates how and why the young man ended up like he did. A sad tale of young man's rebellious search for something. The writing is somewhat disjointed and jumps around a bit. I did not enjoy it as much as other Krakauer books.

This book will definitely have a place in my classroom. It is a wonderfully written biography on John Adams, written for the late elementary/ middle school grades. The covers his young life right through to his death and is very good at depicting his life. His work as a revolutionary receives thorough coverage in the book.

Este libro propone a Cervantes como el inventor de la novela, obviamente con Don Quijote. Gelman analiza y va dando pistas de cómo Cervantes "resolvió" problemas técnicos de su relato, hasta ir haciendo de él una novela. Propone a Don Quojote como fundadora de la novela moderna al encontrar en él el binomio de aventura-experiencia (algo similar a las curvas altas y bajas del drama), que según Gelman vendría a ser la esencia de lo "novelístico". Aunque el centro del ensayo es Don Quijote, Gelman propone ejemplos de novelas que según él recogen la tradición cervantista, sobre todo de habla inglesa, como por ejemplo Mark Twain (le dedica al Huckleberry Finn algunas páginas bastante reveladoras). Es un libro sobre Don Quijote, pero sobre todo es un libro sobre la novela contemporánea, que no tiene desperdicio.

A bit too long, but many parts of this mythology are very fascinating and pretty well written. I think I am more of a Greek mythology fan myself, though. I like the old testament a lot better than the new...if you read any of this book, make it the old testament. It has a lot of really great fantastical stories whereas the new testament is more grounded and wordy/preachy.

Anlattığı hikaye için biraz uzun olduğunu hissettim, ancak karakter gelişimi gerçekten iyiydi ve sayfalar dönmeye devam etti, böylece 351 sayfa hızla geçti. Sıradışı ayar ve karakter çeşitli eğlenceli ve ferahlatıcı oldu. Basmakalıp roller yoktu ve her biri farklıydı. Diyorum ki, son beni şaşırttı. Doğaüstü ve doğalın bir araya gelme şeklini beğendim. Genel olarak çok sağlam bir okuma.
