I'm a fan of Armine von Tempski, mostly for her autobiography and her children's works. I own all her books, even though I don't find her adult fiction terribly earth-shaking. But I was very excited to get to read one of her kids' books aloud to my five-year-old for the first time. She enjoyed the story very much, and it was fun to read aloud. I'm not sure this should really be classified for 4 - 8 year olds as the publisher seems to recommend -- I think older children would enjoy it as well. Likewise, I'm sure my five-year-old didn't understand various parts of the plot, but enjoyed the story nonetheless.

3.5 I guess. I read most of these poems outside of the book context, took a bit of the fun out of it. Kind of disappointed that her best description for black eyes were nigger-eye.

Mildly confusing, though it's amusing. The main char has no idea who he is, which makes it fun cause hes trying to figure out who the hell he is along with you. Its even more entertaining cause everyone he meets who seems to know him either ends up trying to kill him, or he kills. I'd imagine this is quite frustrating.
