Fabulous read.
We all have to face it--the death of our mothers. And for people, like me, who have had a strained, if not outright difficult, relationship with our mothers, this book hits home. Simone de Beauvoir recounts the last month of her mother's life as she dies from the cancer that she was never told that she had. The author recalls episodes from her life with her mother that capture the essence of their relationship and the relationship that the mother has with Simone's sister. Not having a close relationship, the author is surprised at how deeply she is affected by her mother's imminent death and how wracked with grief she is. I need to remember this book when the time comes for my own mother to die. I'll probably need to reread it.

I find it very rare for a Lyndsay Sands book to go above 3 stars. They can be funny and entertaining, but really not that good. Even though this is a start of a new series you should read the Argeneau series so the whole "world" make sense.

This is one of my favorite books of all time; Diamond manages to weave together ecology, history, geography and sociology into a fascinating story.

Good read. Never knew there was so much to learn about tea.
okay - has interesting part (squeeky girls - yeah). But ends uncompleted - disappointing for a graphic novel.

Several animals think they have a time machine but no matter what they try, it just doesn't work. Maybe it isn't a time machine? Maybe it is something else? Librarians will like the ending. Great for a box storytime or a storytime about imagination.
I prefer his other books. This is quite a jilted read with a lot of good observations. But ultimately, there is no big pay off.
Wow. And I thought the first book in this series was an acid-trip. Here's the shortest summary I can think of: an accidental magician-boy meets up with the Gnome King and the two plot to take over Oz with giant soldiers made from monkeys. MEANWHILE, the Wizard of Oz and Dorothy travel with the Glass Cat, the Cowardly Lion, and a Tiger (who's name I can't remember) to the Jungle to convince a tribe of Monkeys to be shrunk to miniature size so they can pop out of the cake at Queen Ozma's birthday party. Confused yet? God knows I am. Wonderful book, and the only one of the series that I actually owned while growing up. But weird. VERY weird.
