Good book that details the history of various aspects of today's current financial markets. Definitely worth your time if, like myself, you are a financial neophyte.
This story could have taken a half-a-dozen different plot lines and the one chosen by the author came as a bit of a surprise to me. The resolution of the plot wasn't quite how I had expected, or perhaps wanted, yet I can see how it flowed naturally from the beginning storyline. It's all so interesting to see how all these characters acted in their situations. I look forward to our book club discussion at the end of the month - I'm sure there will be plenty to talk about.

a masterpiece
Long and moralizing; I couldn't put it down, and then felt vindicated when the introduction claimed the book is in essence a meditation on the value of boringness. Go figure. The heroine is annoyingly good, but anyone better than you is always annoying, right? I don't know why I feel I have to justify enjoying this book. Despite having spotted Henry Crawford as a Vronsky lookalike early on, I really was cheering for him to mellow out in the end and settle down for an uneventful life of hunting parties and afternoon teas. So much the less happy for him if he had!

In general, the Sookie series has become disappointing. The last few books have not really had a STORY in them, they are just a series of events. But this one was better than the last, and there was a lot of Eric, and I am a very forgiving reader, so ... 4 stars. Because I love Eric.

I read this book as a child and enjoyed the strong independant girls in the book. It is a childhood favorite that made me appreciate sisterly relationships as well.

I really wanted to like this book. It wasn't badly written, but I think Keyes relied to much on the content of the video games. The book offered nothing really new to the world, so I have to say it sort of failed. Nevertheless, I am a huge Elder Scrolls fan, so I will read the sequel.
This was an amazing book. It placed you in the center of Germany during the war and gave you insights into those who were not Jewish along with those who were. It was very creative the way the author made death the narrator and the characteristics which he gave death heightened the reverence felt for each soul that was mentioned.
