Alas, some of us are still learning to get on top of our finances! It is an on-going process. This book is excellent.

A thorough indictment of the West in its support for Indonesia's wholesale destruction of East Timor.

I just love Carol Lynn Pearson. In this book she gathers first hand accounts from women in the early Church who tell of various spiritual gifts. I especially loved the chapters on the gift of healing and being healed. Find this one at your library or used and read it!

Better than Evil for Evil. Character expositionis better and plot is more logical. Good characters and plot has a good historical tone.

Another book about how a girl triumphs against all odds. We take for granted that we can go to school and college IF we want to. I don't understand the Chinese cultural, especially 100 years ago. It's hard to fathom that women/mothers would treat a child this way. And it's not like she beat her or anything physical, but the neglect/mental part I think is just as bad.

Very interesting discussion of mindlessness and mindfulness, and its effects on people's psychology. This is not sensationalized self help sound bites, new age fluff, or zen platitudes. It is relevant and insightful stuff, backed by empirical evidence.
BELIEVE (Romance/TT) - NR Alexander, Victoria From Fiction DB: Tessa St. James thought as little of love as she did of the Arthurian legend--it was just a myth. But when an enchanted tome fell into the lovely teacher's hands, Tessa found that she had to rethink her curriculum. Suddenly in Merlin's Camelot, Tessa learned that the legend was nothing like she remembered. Galahad the Chaste was everything but--the powerful knight was an expert lover--and not only wizards could weave powerful spells. Still, even in Galahad's hard-muscled embrace, she felt unsure of this man who had seemed a myth. But soon the beautiful skeptic was on a quest as real as her heart, and the grail--and Galahad's love--were within reach. All she had to do wasäBelieve. Contemporary teacher taken back to Camelot. I could not even finish it.
Nice details and reads well, but the underlying plot is predictable. Some funny lawyer lines, the main character is well developed as a character and is likeable. The author writes tense scenes well. Without giving plot away, there is a scene in this book in which a surprise takes place and I really enjoyed that. It was well written and funny.
Interesting view of life from a disabled point of view.

I read this in French, so I don't know how the English translation compares. For language capable readers, I'd recommend reading the play in French!
