If you love history, this is quite interesting, especially the info. about conflicted Indians serving in WWII against the Japanese in Burma. Unlike the experience you get with really good historical fiction, however, I wasn't really taken with the characters; the whole thing smacked too much of pedagogy.

In the YA-dystopia genre, this was a fun read, but not as well formed as other books (Hunger Games, Uglies, Divergent, Crossed). Bumped also was more geared toward a younger reading group with the use of what felt like teeny-bopper language (rilly for really, terminated, bumping) and with characters who lived and breathed social networking technology. The premise is that in a future world, only teenagers can have babies due to some virus. That being the case, teenagers are surrogate mothers and have as many babies as possible. Some girls have become "professionals" who are hired out before getting pregnant, and therefore given a stipend, and some are "amateurs" who wait until the baby is born to find a parent for the child. The main character is a "pro" who has yet to actually get bumped and then her identical twin sister, who was raised in a religious group that still believes in traditional marriages, shows up on her doorstep. An enjoyable read, but nothing to rave about.

mutains or angels, how can one girl save the world, when she wants to protect her family
In this installment of the Fables story, one fable betrays them all and members of the Adversary come back to attack Fabletown. Another engrossing volume, this book provides a bit of background into the flee from the motherland. It also ends on a cliffhanger, so I can hardly wait to see what comes next...
Good book can't wait to see the movie.

This was a super cute, fun, fast, light hearted read. I enjoyed the book because it accomplished what I wanted it to ... let me excape reality for a while and be happy along with the characters. There wasn't any drama that had my heart dropping or my eyes watering, but that was fine for me. I enjoyed being a fly on the wall as Wes cuddled and Mal chuckled! I recommend this book if you are looking for something that is light hearted and leaves you happy. I would be happy to see what happens next! Happy Reading!

Amazing its worthy of a standing ovation and a great lesson for those whojust seem to give in
I will forever maintain that Sandman is the best comic ever written. Gaiman was originally given the task of resurrecting a not particularly interesting golden age DC superhero, and instead, managed to change comics forever. He created the Endless- Destiny, Death, Destruction, Dream, Desire, Despair, and Delirium (who used to be delight), created a whole new mythology based on so many sources- Greek/Roman/Egyptian/Norse mythology, fairy tales, fables, DC comic book characters, and of course, Gaiman's own brilliant, twisted psyche. Even if you don't think you like comic books, you should read the Sandman books. They are not like any "comic" you have ever read before, and Gaiman is a true genius. World's End (Book 9) is more of the end to the series than The Wake, but the Wake works as a kind of afterwards. Probably my least favorite of all the Sandman books, but still excellent.
